I mean it's always been inevitable that the west will arrive at a point where it decides to abandon the patent system and try stealing Chinese technology, especially with China holding a lock on all RE patents in the last 25 years lol.

Theft is the default mode thinking for western cultures and compared to stealing land or resources stealing IP carries basically no direct cost, its something they do on instinct without thought, I mean just look at the Dutch.

The problem with stealing IP though is its not something you can actually do without intelligence, patents don't describe everything and companies always hold back critical parts as trade secrets or just classified information, stealing technology is a meme created by people who only understand theft, it's not something that's actually easy to do.

At end of the day technology is the result of human capital, not capital in itself. If US start invalidating patents China will simply do it to American patents, and when there are no patents left, he who can actually innovate fastest wins, i.e. China wins.

I think the limit of American thinking was probably just to install known crazy Taikachi into power to stir the pot, but how she stired it was all her idea, not unlike their previous Korean puppet Yoon with his coup.

I don't know if Americans actually think they can exchange something with China for pulling on Japan's leash, but if they did, they really should have checked if China wants Japan's leash pulled or not.

I say China's thoroughly enjoying the situation right now.

He couldn't sell his dignity cus it was never worth anything. He's going to crawl around on the floor all day slobbering like a mutt, then Trump is going to see his weakness and kick him into the air for it. Trump will take everything, force him into endless concessions until he's nothing more than a c-sucking crackhead begging for his next fix outside the ghetto gas station. He can offer his everything to Trump and Trump won't stop because he doesn't have what Trump wants, which is China's respect and then capitulation. Everyone else who bends over is just a punching bag for Trump to vent his China frustrations on.

Why not remove toyota from the Chinese market, and see if he would do the same for flattering the Chinese? By throttling rare earths supply to Japan car industry would do the job.

If you know what prices Toyotas are being sold for in the US, you'll understand who is truly being humiliated. Toyota will go full MAGA as long as it can continue to milk its cash cow consumer dry. Take a Sienna for example:

A whole lot of law bending and exceptionalism to argue with God on a technicality.
Not hard to see the root of the similar levels of exceptionalism in Israel's actions in Palestine.

Americans aren't even getting the reliability premium when overpaying for their precious toyotas anymore. Too bad they can't take a hit in reliability perception and buy a cheaper american brand car since they're also gouging customers up to their eyeballs as well.
