you're looking at the wrong signals. first off, if america really retreats into isolationism then china doesnt have to worry about anything, things will take care of themselves. but i have every reason to believe the whole 'clear and consistent retreat' that you are convinced of is a deception. if you look at the actual moves being played and not the lipservice paid then the us is only accelerating its global interventionist moves. it's just developing other parts of the board:
- ongoing actions to exhaust china's 'backdoor' that is russia: what the us sells as a retreat from nato has been detailed in the us's own thinktank papers as the assignment of an offensive effort to the europeans. the task given to the europeans is expend themselves drawing russia into to ever increasing commitments in the western front. this is being supported with observable actions such as the reestablishment of conscription in germany. does that look like they intend to call it quits?
- a scramble to secure resources for the us and deny them to china: venezuela, nigeria, iran. ongoing attacks on fuel pipeline in myanmar iirc. if it's part of BRI, the us is looking at fucking with it.
- tightening the noose of political isolation through through diplomacy and color revolutions. argentina was bought off for 40b, madagascar and what was it, burma? got couped... warhawks getting swapped in like takaichi is part of this too.
-1.6b in antichina rhetoric is producing a noticeable uptick in propaganda with everything bad under the sun now being somehow linked back to china. ukranians dying to russians? china is evil and helping russia. russians dying to ukrainians? china is evil and is backstabbing russia. china is behind every cyberattack and every backdoor in your electronics all of a sudden. they mean to leverage this sentiment if they're going to this much work to produce it.
any sense that the us is only pulling back is pretty obviously only so that it can push its meatshields forward. in the same way it won ww1 and ww2, the us intends to come in after everyone else has been exhausted and land the final blow to steal all the credit.
and really, get the idea that the "us president is a monarch that makes decisions for the country" out of your head. that is like some prehistoric ungabunga caveman mentality. trump's bullshit is just the daily hyperreality tv show; he's not really in command of anything. he doesnt have jack to do with what's going on backstage -- which btw you surely should have noticed by now how the comings and goings of presidential administrations never messes with america's war plans.
ill come back and apologize personally the day we see america dispose all its forward bases of its own volition, but i dont think a people possessed of the mentality that gets them "750 bases in 80 countries" will suddenly renounce their ways.

I agree that the US deep state, executive, and legislative branches are hatching and coordinating schemes within plots within schemes. That said, these are shortsighted and self-destructive ones. It is more along the lines of throwing your arms and legs into the fire so that you can cook and eat them to fatten your already morbidly obese torso.

Sounds like they were expecting Chinese capitulation on Nexperia. They believed that China would agree to them stealing billions of dollars that a Chinese company spent, their fabs in China, and their Chinese customers. Free from any consequences or cost.
This is what happens when elites believe their own propaganda. He probably thought China was weakened through just losing a huge trade war and so was ripe for the mugging. I wouldn't be surprise if Japan thought the same. Korea seems to understand what is happening in reality though.
Setting the state for Israeli annexation of Egyptian territory in the name of "stabilization against terrorism". Israeli has always coveted the Sinai Peninsula and has always resented having to leave after their previous occupations.
Which is why China needs to PUBLICLY reneg all the recent RE agreements with the US until the complete OUSTER of Grinch Face Woman. Make it abundantly clear to the world that Japan is a vassal state subject to the complete whim and control of the US. No more mealy mouthing. At the very least, it would be an interesting experiment to see the reaction from the US side as to how precarious their situation is and if they value short term self interest over long term strategic thought.

Just be patient. As I mentioned in my post, the US and Europe are just getting ready to start their transition. Trump is just a canary in the gold mine, the first influential person in an American administration who's actually trying to pull back globally. He won't be successful of course, as too many powers within the US will be against such moves. But he's just the first, and many more will come.
No matter how much they try, they simply can't fight against the tide of changing times. They need to retreat or be eaten alive by their domestic enemies who'll only have increasing ammunition over time due to problems inherent to their decrease in power. Think about all the Chinese dynasties in their dying years, or the Roman empire past its peak. There is no will to contest with foreign opponents because every powerful person's biggest threats came from within.
