Fourth Beijing warning for Li Ka-shing’s Hutchison over Panama ports deal

Beijing’s offices overseeing Hong Kong affairs repost another scathing news article taking aim at company over sale to US consortium
Beijing’s offices overseeing Hong Kong affairs have signalled their anger at tycoon Li Ka-shing’s CK Hutchison Holdings for the fourth time by reposting a news article which accuses the company of not maximising its profits in the “unusual deal” to sell its Panama ports to a consortium led by US firm BlackRock.

The Hong Kong and Macau Affairs Office and the central government’s liaison office in the city on Thursday posted on their websites an article by pro-Beijing newspaper Ta Kung Pao, which quoted international business experts as saying the sale was “inconsistent with the business logic of seeking profit”.

“[The deal] not only undervalues the assets but has a very short decision-making process instead of adopting the ‘highest bidder wins’ approach,” it said.

“Western media have also pointed out that the American financial group got a good deal.”
The latest article quoted Bai Ming, deputy director of the International Market Research Institute under the nation’s Ministry of Commerce, as saying he company did not seem to be maximising its profits and the deal “exemplifies not talking business when in business”.

Commentators were quoted as saying Hutchison was an “old hand” in the business world and the most representative enterprise from Hong Kong but had “seemingly bowed down in the face of American pressure”.

“Wouldn’t it feel ashamed in front of other businesses? Is there no need to consider national interest and corporate image, apart from getting a good deal?” the article said.

“In the face of American hegemony and bullying, it should choose to stand together with the country, uphold fairness and justice and embody the responsibilities it ought to take.”

The article said it was “disappointing” that the company had not provided a “positive response”, despite attracting so much public attention recently.

Beijing has the potentially to do the funniest thing by just taking the money and running with the docks

Would be another kick in US' balls and Trump isn't able to respond on Blackrock's behalf since Blackrock is one of those actors funding the anti-Trump movement

Trump is the most pro-Israeli president that has ever served in the White House.

So unless Trump exits the Oval Office prematurely, or unless Iran becomes a nuclear power, then in all likelihood Iran is going to get thoroughly bombed by the Americans and/or Israelis before 2029, if not this year or next year.

This classic meme perhaps best embody the conundrum in play. Except swap out Iraq for Iran, and had for will have.

Iran does possess certain capabilities for detecting stealth aircraft, but to reasonably deter a strike conducted by B-2 bombers and F-35 fighters, and other 5th gen platforms, the Iranians are going to need a lot more resources than what's in hand.

There's obviously a reasonable chance that the USN, USAF and IAF will lose airframes and crews in an air campaign against Iran, but odds remain in their favor against Iran in terms of overall mission success.

From an American perspective, what absolutely needs to be avoided is a ground war, as no one wants another Iraq or Afghanistan.
Trump is Pro American and this based on reading Arabic Soft Power. and I dont think Trump want to bring Gulf Monarchies name in everything because it will be too much for the rest of the World and American people.
Soft Power defeat Hard Industrial power of Korea even in Europe despite Korea selling arms to Europe.

Busan didn’t lose its expo bid to Riyadh because of oil money
“K-pop celebrities PSY and BTS flew the flag for Busan. South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol traveled to Paris for a final campaign effort escorted by top executives from South Korean tech giants including Samsung or LG,” Politico reported.

The New York Times noted that South Korea had “gone all out to promote its bid [. . .] appointing the K-pop band BTS as its ambassador, along with celebrities like the ‘Squid Game’ star Lee Jung-jae.”

Iran have recently claimed that they have the technology to detect stealth aircraft. If they can also track and them as well, this can become a very dangerous situation that can blow out of scope.
detecting stealth aircraft is not enough. Stealth aircraft by definition has more advanced sensors that enable it to detect threats and enhance protection.
After three years of Ukraine conflict Arabs released Su-35 info. they said at most 11% of Su-35 of original fleet of 120 Su-35 down. The word is at most. so number could be less. I am sure they are analyzing every aircraft performance in Ukraine conflict some they will release and some not or some not completely accurate. so what say about things highly likely accurate.

Visibly Invisible: The History of Stealth Technologies

Stealth technology developments continue, and detection tools are also being developed in parallel. Modern radars with active phased arrays (APAA), which are installed on the latest generation of fighters, are able to see further and better, detecting stealth aircraft as well. Practice has shown that the current level of scientific development does not allow creating an aircraft that is completely invisible to radar.

No, I mean that time they bombed Iran and took 0 losses for it. What is it with this forum's idiotic pathological aversion to admitting these countries are simply inadequate?
Both sides bombed each other with ballistic missiles without entering each others airspace. And both strikes did very little damage, whether by design or inability we can't know

But how is Israel or the US going to do an attack on Iranian nuclear facilities without triggering a nuclear test? They'd have to instantly destroy all stockpiles of uranium which seems to be a rather risky strategy requiring a lot more assets

This has not escaped my notice either & also surprised me. MIC seems to have lost their hold, at least somewhat. Or at least other than that over their presstitute propagandists & congressional lackeys.

The British, like anyone and everyone else residing in a glass house, ought to stop throwing rocks around.

Europeans can gloat all they want about the cancellation of US FMS contracts, but the reality is that major European weapons systems like the Typhoon and the Gripen remain highly dependent on US manufactured subsystems. Case in point:

What that said, our illustrious leader, President Donald J. Trump can easily ITAR the sale of European "alternatives" to the F-35.

Deport them to the PRC where they can repent for the crimes by planting trees in the desert.

Brother, you are too kind with and merciful to these TIP salafists. In no way am I praising them, but these mujahideen are generally speaking fairly, if not in some cases extremely experienced and capable fighters as those who didn't make the cut were weeded out by way of natural selection in combat.

With these sort of guys, jihad is not the path, so much as the destination. To salafists of their variety, there is no greater honor and no goal nobler than to "ascend to jannah" by way of jihad. As such for all practical purposes, most of them will rather die than return to China. Might as well as grant them their wish.

China should simply precondition any relations on their total expulsion of all TIP from Syria. Alternatively, if they can get all the TIP to lay down their arms, renounce Islam, condemn Turkey, and swear undying allegiance to the CPC, that would be acceptable too.

Expulsion doesn't cut it, liquidation is the way for these terrorists. Live by the sword, die by the sword.

The wives and kids are a different story. However, even then, best to let the dependents stay in Syria, rather than become liabilities to the public safety of Chinese citizens while being housed and fed at the expense of Chinese taxpayers. It's not like they consider themselves Chinese anyhow.

Fourth Beijing warning for Li Ka-shing’s Hutchison over Panama ports deal

Beijing’s offices overseeing Hong Kong affairs repost another scathing news article taking aim at company over sale to US consortium

What's the point of these warnings?!

There's no way someone occupying Li Ka-shing's station in life or that of his lieutenants and sons got clean hands.

Might as well as get to business . . .
