I think few have realized just how funny this term is going to be. Everyone seems to have forgotten this is Donald "nuke hurricanes" "hit the body with a tremendous disinfectant" "bomb Russia with Chinese F-22s" "super duper missiles" "sneak attack Mosul" "would bang Ivanka" "big water, ocean water" "Tim Apple" "Marilyn Lockheed" "" Trump.

If you just want to laugh and watch the world burn, there's a lot to look forward to.

I think people have trouble understanding the gravity of the situation because of the superstition regarding the U.S., or American exceptionalism. If you use sentiments, China would’ve been finished as soon as the tech war started due to the almost insurmountable gap (on the surface) with the U.S. Yet it persevered. Why?

This is why you need to apply materialist analysis, not your own opinions and feelings.

Japanese GDP in 1995 was 5.546 trillion USD but dropped to 4.213 trillion USD in 2023 and this is without adjusting for inflation. 5.546 trillion in 1995 dollars is equivalent to 11.1 trillion in 2023 dollars after adjusting for inflation. I.e., Japan's GDP today is only about 40% of its GDP 30 years ago (in inflation adjusted USD).

Trump is doing right by USA the country if he cuts Ukraine and Israel loose and stops all military aid. To delay default any reduction in spending is welcome and wars are costly.

Of course cutting Ukraine and Israel loose also means he's digging at the foundation of USA the global superpower's hegemony. If Ukraine falls to Russia who will still believe US military umbrella is worth anything?

The smart thing to do would have been to use your propaganda machine to throw as much dirt on Zelensky as possible then make a deal with Russia to sell out Ukraine. Then at least you might get something in that negotiation and it wouldn't look like a military defeat. Maybe do some macho moves like nuke some uninhabited island and let Russia do the same first so when you do make that deal everyone's glad and thinks you're a good person because you were reasonable and avoided nuclear war.

Yes. You need to choose between America the Empire and America the Country, and I think the latter will do right for the citizens a lot more than the former. It is true that if the empire perishes then people can’t enjoy as cheap of imported goods, but the oligarchs have a hell of a lot to lose from it.

Which is why I think that they’ll defend it till the very bitter end, even at the expense to the people. The global oligarchy roosts in one place and one place only.

But isn't their debt like 250% of their GDP and they're still functioning as a government and as a nation, relatively speaking. The level of panic and fear mongering isn't really quite the same as what is shown in the US, even by their own media. Sometimes, I think this is just a partisan talking point on how one of the parties aren't fiscally responsible rather than a serious problem that they resort to by kicking the can down the road.
