I don't talk about India much because India actually deserve respect and Indian respect actually matters. They might not be comparable to China, but for all their faults they stand up to themselves against the west, and that's worth far more than vassal colonies.

How big of a lead would China have if the US requires decades to build up alternative sources and domestic producers while China continues its buildup unimpeded?
