As I said, a fence sitter who thinks he can play both sides and get away with it will find himself in a hard position when it's his turn and no one will want to help him.

When he asks for help we will say no.
It was Mao who said "We Must Unite All The Forces That Can Be United".
The west turning against India was inevitable, the disconnect between Indian nationalism and their skin colour in western eyes is irreconcilable. The west only accept relations with slaves, and Indians, for all their faults, won't be slaves.

It doesn't mean China should give concessions, China shouldn't, but the world isn't zero sum, there are always win-win solutions. Its up to India to choose win-win over zero sum, if they do choose win-win, China should reciprocate. At end of the day China just need to win, China does not need India to lose.

And yes everyone knows India isn't reliable, that's already baked into the calculus when doing business with them, e.g. no you should never sell them stuff and send invoice after, but there's no reason to not send them stuff if they paid in full up front.

The funny thing is this is basically China vs the entire West in that panel. They claim China is "competitive" in LNG carriers for example. Well the US does not build any of those. In the West you would have to go to South Korea or Japan for that.

Did you know that the US used to import LNG from Russia to the US East Coast because according to their Jones Act Law you need to use US LNG carriers to transport LNG from one point in the US to another, and they don't have any LNG carriers which can do it? Because the US can't build them?

yes its entire West since the financial system and R&D post 1945 has central location based on dollar system of US President and Saudi King. thats why there is Arabic news when ever there is that Russian super computers.
Even this topic of LNG vessels in Arc 7 and Arc 8 ice class things getting delayed because the have to collect the right engineering talent. There is many other things in that bloom berg report they didnot properly research it.

Arctic container ships: construction and operation problems

For example, the Audax and Pugnax vessels, which were designed by the Finnish company Aker Arctic Technology and built by the Chinese shipyard Guangzhou Shipyard International in 2016, initially for the Chinese company ZPMC-Red Box Energy Services specifically for the transportation of modules for the Yamal LNG plant.

Wow, look at them panic. Sanctioning DJI but still using components from China in their own drones. I wonder what would happen if 40% of US military hardware stopped receiving inputs from China. How big of a lead would China have if the US requires decades to build up alternative sources and domestic producers while China continues its buildup unimpeded?

Yes they act like China did this for no reason. How outrageous!

Personally I was surprised because China doesn't do anything preemptively and always wants to play kumbaya which is why they're so angry. They thought they can work against DJI and China would still supply the parts they need for their drones.

Paying up front in their useless money? What are we gonna buy with that trash? See this is how Indians get ya. Just ask Russians. Iirc rupees are under capital control cannot be converted at will.

Then you are forced to buy their low quality product at a premium price.

And Mao was mistaken. Albania, North Korea, Vietnam, to name a few.

Obvoiusly no, not even in USD, upfront in RMB, and if they have no RMB, don't sell.
It's up to India if they can afford to buy and if they have enough RMB, but if they do and pay upfront, there's no reason to not do business.

This is obviously a sign of weakness. Skydio wouldn't be seething, malding, generally bitching to the government if they can find an alternate supplier before their stockpile runs out. Now the question is if this is representative of the rest of the MIC.

One downside is that this play was suboptimal. China has effectively signaled that the Chinese supply chain will be weaponized to achieve geopolitical goals. Other MIC companies will see this and rush to stockpile as much as they can to hedge their risks. You should never half send a shot like this.

What's galling about this mother father, brother of a company is that they have been instrumental on lobbying it's government to ban DJI on pretty much everything in America from Police use, firefighting use, agriculture etc..Which is why I think they're getting targeted specifically by the recent ban that China imposed. What's good for the goose, is also good for the gander.
