So more money to China in the short term.
If you want more fiat money, sure. Exports to the US is only about 4% of China's GDP with defence relevant exports being only a fraction of that 4%.

IMO, ensuring that the US runs out of parts to build F-35s and other fancy toys is a much better result. It'll take decades to replace China in the supply chain if inputs were cut off cold turkey. This in turn gives China time to go sausage mode on producing their toys and kicking the US out of the West Pacific.

EDIT: LOL, good luck replacing Chinese batteries when your lithium plants keep blowing up.

Green and digital economies to feature in Version 3.0 of China-Asean free-trade agreement

New deal, set to be signed next year, to include integration of digital infrastructure and electronic payment systems

China is set to sign up next year to an updated version of a bilateral free-trade agreement with Southeast Asian nations, consolidating its role in the region by enhancing trade, new energy cooperation and supply chain connectivity.

After a meeting on the sidelines of an Asean regional forum in Laos on October 10, China and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations announced the “substantial conclusion” of Version 3.0 of their free-trade agreement, following

The new agreement, expected to be formally signed next year, covers nine new areas, including the digital economy, green economy, supply chain connectivity, and customs facilitation.

It includes the integration of digital infrastructure and electronic payment systems, as well as trade and investment cooperation in green energy, and both sides will encourage their businesses to establish mutually applicable standards.

Look how peaceful and happy everyone is, even little Marcos. It's almost as if something happened right before.

If Chinese carriers do more exercises around Korea and Japan, I'm sure the China-Japan-Korea FTA can be upgraded too. If Chinese carriers visited Europe, those EU EV tariffs can be worked out. Heck if Chinese carriers conducted dual carrier exercises on the US West Coast, we can even get a China-US FTA. Moral of the story, in order to defend free trade, China needs to build more carriers and support infrastructure to allow for farther "visits".
开门,自由贸易!

I'm eagerly waiting for some ignoramus using these images to demonstrate the splendor of the almighty US Navy.

US is selling weapons to Argentina with which they could eventually use to try to take back the Malvinas from those British rats. Where have we seen that before? Hmm...

Anyway, I think this is a good deal. Let that fool Milei fool buy F-16s and any other American weaponries first. Later on, his replacement is gonna inherit all that US weaponry and do as he/she pleases with them. Or maybe Milei goes nuts one day and turns his chainsaw at the Brits. That'll make him very popular for sure.
I'm wondering in another war between Argentina and UK, if the IFF on these F-16s will identify all plans and vessels from UK as friends?

Only 3 days of food reserve?

Noah Smith: the imbecile being his normal imbecile self. BTW, more than 150 million Chinese travel overseas each year, and about the same number of foreigners will visit China each year once the effects of COVID-19 wear off.

This is obviously a sign of weakness. Skydio wouldn't be seething, malding, generally bitching to the government if they can find an alternate supplier before their stockpile runs out. Now the question is if this is representative of the rest of the MIC.

One downside is that this play was suboptimal. China has effectively signaled that the Chinese supply chain will be weaponized to achieve geopolitical goals. Other MIC companies will see this and rush to stockpile as much as they can to hedge their risks. You should never half send a shot like this.
China already sanctioned pretty much all US defence contractors, they all know what they're up against already, Skydio is just the first to openly cry about it to the White House. And yes they definitely are in bigger trouble than simply having to wait for alternative battery supplier if they're asking the White House for help.

An interesting detail about the Skydio situation is their battery supplier Amperex is partly owned by TDK, and TDK is large Japaneses company involved in battery development. US goverment and military have, on paper at least, strict supplier requirements, and Skydio's main business is US goverment, so there is a good chance they choose Amperex so they can claim their battery supplier is TDK, and used TDK being Japaness to pass supply chain requirements.

In other words Skydio's situation is a microcosm of the entire US defence industrial complex, the companies themselves are lying to the goverment about supply chain reliability, and they are far more reliant on China than US goverment realize.

Not beating the allegations that Canada is a nation that is harbour a significant amount of Nazis both among the population and the leadership, heck Israel is literally the modern incarnation of Nazi Germany minus the gas chambers and the USA is pushing this right now. This is truly going to go down in history, sooner to later the sun will set on these evil douchebags. Only this time a world wide effort will be required to completely remove the Nazi symbol from this planet if we are to have peace
