Till today, I still find so many people who argue that Trump was a peaceful president, that he didn't start any new wars bla, bla, bla. Nonsense! I argued back that this buffoon of a president started the Trade Wars and nearly started hot wars with Iran and China. The only reason why the hot wars didn't kick off was because the Pentagon stopped them from happening. I also argued that it was he who launched a series of biowarfare attacks on China that culminated with Covid-19, which then blew back and messed up the world economy.

Unless the Democrats cheat, I am quite certain that Trump is gonna become the next POTUS. A Trump 2.0 presidency will most definitely not be peaceful. It might freeze the Ukraine War, but it will attempt start new wars and new global crises. He would start with the lower hanging fruit, which is the Middle East. Then he would certainly ramp things up in the Asia Pacific with China. Russia and China is wiser this time, but Iran, I'm not so sure. So when Trump becomes POTUS again, we shouldn't celebrate, but prepare for another roller coaster ride.

China's system isn't perfect and there was a lot of corruption before Xi cleaned house, but I trust meritocracy way more than democracy. Even back when CPC was riddled with corruption they still managed the country better then any democracy result in high economic growth and poverty reduction

There is a form of new corruption recently. The do nothing, pretend to be busy kind of corruption. Like forcing villagers to dial government numbers daily to pad their statistic resume. This kind of corruption is almost worse than the money kind. Almost like Indians in tech company.

Indonesia bans Temu over fears Chinese shopping giant will ‘destroy’ local SMEs​


Indonesian authorities say allowing Temu to operate will result in cheap goods flooding the country and squeezing out small traders

Indonesia has banned Chinese online marketplace giant Temu to protect its micro, small and medium-sized enterprises from getting “destroyed” and prevent cheap products from flooding the country.

Temu, owned by PDD Holdings, directly connects factories in China with consumers in more than 50 countries, such as Malaysia, Thailand and the United States.

Indonesian authorities have said the platform’s business model eliminates local stakeholders like resellers and shippers in the supply chain, allowing overseas companies to keep prices low that could squeeze small traders in Indonesia.


“No, Temu cannot enter because it damages the economy, especially Indonesian micro, small and medium enterprises [SMEs]. We will not give it a chance,” Minister of Communications and Informatics Budi Arie Setiadi said last week.

Budi said Indonesia’s digital space needed to be filled with things that “make society more productive and profitable”.

“If it is detrimental, what’s the point? We will ban it. Our micro, small and medium enterprises will be destroyed if left unchecked.”

Good ole tradition of bureaucrats gaming the evaluation system, it sucks but I can't say it is necessarily worse than the money kind though. It is a constant battle between system designer and schemers. I'll say one good thing come out of social media is that such events get exposed onto the internet real quick these days and reported to higher echelon of the system, loopholes get patched and offending officials get punished, hopefully....

I rather have ambitious and money grabbing type than western degeneracy type. Former is illegal easier to expose. Latter is legally grey, their effect is a slow acting poison that will not be found until too late.
