Yunus is like Biden age and afaik he has the NED badge of shame because he did a banking project that had real positive consequences for the locals.

It's not entirely clear whether it's because he is a traitor or because he's the 0.01% of normal ppl that US state orgs award because they need the legitimacy from awarding legitimately nice ppl.

It’s quite unbelievable that governments still fall for such easy CIA colour revolutions. We all know the playbook yet countries still fall for it. NGO, student protesters, social media. Do these countries have counter intelligence? If you can’t protect your country from foreign subversion, no point even having a military. If they are too stupid to still fall for this trick, they are too stupid to live.

Why do you think the CIA always targets students? Fresh, naive, rebellious youth every generation who always thinks too much of themselves and too little of others and loves to disparage the wisdom of their elders and think they know better.

Anwar Ibrahim, the current PM of Malaysia is one of the few exceptions. He had many trips to the US. He gave speeches there, studied there, and was endorsed by a number of US politicians. His "Reformation" movement in Malaysia was heavily supported by the NED and George Soros' Open Foundation. He was also super close to Erdogan. So people were right to suspect that he is US puppet.

Turns out, he is proving to be quite the opposite. He had steered Malaysia into closer cooperation with China. Culminating with Malaysia's application to join BRICS. He has openly condemned Israel and placed sanctions, much to the dismay of the US. Today his old NED allies attacks him regularly and the US has placed some sanctions on Malaysia. So it's fair to say that he is proving not to be America's puppet.

Therefore sometimes things are not what it seems. As long as the person is not a complete idiot like Milei or Guaido, things might not be so predictable.
I think having been in prison help broaden his perspective, Mahathir has done something right by rejecting IMF condition which Anwar support, their fall out and lack of US support during his imprisonment may have change him.

It certainly fits Sun Tzu strategy, when the whole world is focused on SCS and the X-Island Chain concepts, China suddenly gains a coastline in Myanmar lol

However it's impossible. The strategic gain for China would be so enormous that I just can't see how India and the US don't actively intervene to stop that from happening. It would be a disaster for them to allow such a thing to happen

No one controls the battlefield.

Having said that, the biggest and most powerful player here is the Chinese. Inside and outside of China.

From what I understand, and that is very limited, that the gains for the militia were mainly from using drones effectively taking out the government army. This is a total military victory.

Geez, where did they get those drones from, and who taught them how to use it? Where did they get the money.

It just seems too organized. These connections, informal ones, the people to people types, seem to run too deep.

MNDAA definitely got some support from China to carry out their operation 1027 because of Myanmar military's refusal to do anything about scams

But I think it's possible their current gains as far as Lashio were unplanned.

Alternate take then. At that time, US was paying money to Pakistan for their support and fully intended to invade Afghanistan regardless. In that case might as well try to make money from it. So they betrayed Taliban for money.
The money US gave to Pakistan was peanuts. It was like $3b/year, most of which went to facilitating the supply & logistics of and rendering services to NATO. The costs incurred, on the other hand, were staggering.

The common view at the time was that if Pakistan did not support NATO's invasion, then NATO would force it's way through Pakistan, possibly via India, and wreck Pakistan (along with Afghanistan) in the process. I found this view suspect because 1) NATO did not ask Pakistan for support, rather Pakistan itself offered it first, and; 2) if NATO were intent on forcing their way through, they'd have a much easier time going through a very weak Iran instead of a nuclear-armed Pakistan which does not conform to any "first-use" policy on nuclear weapons.

Just reading some reports once in a while, it just sound like a complete rout.

If those ethnic militias in Burma stop fighting each other, then they will defeat the government army resoundingly, that is the impression I get.

So not surprised if the Burmese army is being evicted. There is no more presence there, and they won't be coming back, as long as the militias do not start fighting each other.

Myanmar could be halfway to be being dismembered. I agree with you.

Every piece of news coming out of there seems really important nowadays.

I'm not going to waste my time with someone who doesn't even understand how intelligence agencies use social media platforms to magnify and radicalize existing and legitimate unrest, thus scaling up mass outrage and protest participation. Nor how they leverage bribes and death threats against protest leaders to try and insert new leaders of government after a regime change. You're going on the ignore list due to using sarcasm to insult people.
@Nobo is literally from Bangladesh and is residin in the country that's been affected and suffered from the country's poor quality leadership resulting of its ousting. The fact that one of the leading figures of the interim caretaker provitional governtment has been praised and received awards from the U.S. does not automatically infer or confirm that the person is fully alligned with U.S. interests wholesale. Let's not forget the current P.M. of Malaysia who was once also the darling of the west and America and many here rightfully felt that he was a trojan horse for the American interests. But, much to the chagrin of the American interests and welcome surprised of Sinophiles, Ibrahim turned out to be quite adroit in handling the intense geopolitical rivalry between Tonya Harding against China.

Let's not be so careless and cavalier with our attitude against someone, country that is going upheaval and tremendous misery. You and I are far removed from the current dramatic changes happening in that members country. Have some humility and humanity for f..k sake.
