Incoming colour revolution in Bangladesh?

Depending on what happens, it could be good for China as the current government is an Indian ally

It's funny isn't it. Violent riots are common in developing countries all over the world but somehow the only one that gets remembered is the one in China 35 years ago. It really shows how much western media controls the narrative.

Heck, even the cause of the riot is pretty similar, both were due to university students dissatisfied with iron rice bowl policies

The United States has announced anti-dumping and countervailing duty investigations into imports of Chinese-made low-speed personal transport vehicles such as golf carts.
The petition claimed that state-backed Chinese companies are selling the vehicles in the United States at much less than fair value, with dumping rates estimated at 477 percent. It also said the Chinese firms benefit from numerous countervailable government subsidies, such as tax breaks and discounted raw materials, providing an unfair and artificial advantage.

Is the current gov actually an Indian ally? What about the opposition? I thought the current gov was pretty neutral.
I've heard that Sheikh Hasina has close ties to the Indian govt. I guess they're an ally in the sense that they're neutral toward India instead of hating India.

A lot of the Bangladeshi populace hates India because of the Hindu nationalist policies and issues like border killings

You have to remember that the only reason Bangladesh is independent as a country is Indian military support in their conflict to secede from Pakistan. Bangladesh used to be called East Pakistan. While they have had lots of border issues and the like with India thus far these have been resolved diplomatically.
Yeah, I guess their current stance toward India is pretty reasonable. But still it wouldn't hurt to have another Pakistan on India's flank keeping them busy on the eastern border.

And Trump said he was going punish countries that don't use the dollar while Republicans want to deny countries from using the dollar as a form of punishment.

Schrodinger's dollar

I missed the craziest part of that article.

TIL China's defence spending went up 600% from 2019 to 2021. That's a lot of serial numbers SDF members missed.
It's a 720 degree turnaround from previous policy

Blinken in March 2021

Blinken in July 2024: "My old pal Wang Yi will probably meet me next week in Laos, right?"

Ever since that Alaska smack down by Tiger Yang, our friend Blinken hasn't been the same.
