All China has to do, imo, is to continue doing what it has been doing, and not take the bait of war thrown by the Americans. Americans love war. They are good at destroying, but not very good at developing without it. Restrict their ability to wage war globally and they will crumble. Their entire economy is based on the war machine and the resultant chaos.

What I'm not sure of is whether the non-interference policy of China is good or bad. Ideally, it is better not to interfere in foreign politics. But it just so happens that China's enemies interfere everywhere and turn those countries into mini obstacles for China. Take Pakistan for example - despite having China as it's closest ally, it is infested with American and European interference in every sector and faction. Have you noticed: whenever a Pakistani leader is in trouble, they run to and seek assistance from US/UK, but not China?

I used to support total non-interventionalism, now I'm not so sure. I think China should at least be able to prevent US regime change operations over the world. Otherwise, whenever China sign a contract and someone get couped and nothing gets done. I feel especially strongly about the Imran Khan coup

Theres a reason why Pepe Escobar called the U.S. the “empire of chaos” because its political and military elite thrive and profit from chaos. Not just the military industrial complex but private equity and vulture funds. They don’t care if Pakistan descends into chaos so long as chaos occur in chinas neighbourhood, they don’t even care about cartels on their own doorstep, that’s how bad the rot is inside the U.S. political establishment.

Reformist Massoud has won in Iran's presidential election

Anybody can talk about what this means for West/China ties etc?

Outside of trying to warm relations with the west. I don’t expect their foreign policy with everyone else will change including Israel because Khamenei makes the final decision on policy. Relations with the west probably isn’t going to improve anytime soon regardless of who wins. Democrats had 4 years and did nothing while Republicans is guaranteed to do nothing.

Pezeshkian, the hopeful reformist candidate, frequently emphasizes in his statements that Khamenei sets the overall direction for the country. During his campaign, he reiterated that Khamenei determines general policies, including foreign policy, and the government must align with these directives.

On June 18, during one of his campaign programs, Pezeshkian stated, “The final word in political discussion in society should be leadership. When there is a dispute in the country, he is the one who has to solve these issues, and if a person or a group talks too much, the leadership determines that that person or group should be silent.”

Reformist = pro west. They don't want reform, they want pro west. Many want to go back to kings ruling them, is that really reform? Their social policy statements are irrelevant. Just watch Iranian street interviews. This is a mild one, there's another where one guy talks about bad stuff the UK did and replaces it with China, and people get riled up about China.

They are not angry for the bullying, they're angry that they're not part of the bullies.

China doesn't need to interfere, it has too much economic heft that there isn't any government in today's world that can't live without dealing with it. If China reduces itself to America's level then the Americans would have an upper hand. Don't ever play the game others want you to play. America will overextend itself playing those Cold War games.

China clearly needs to counter US/West intervention, and do a U turn, just like it did with Nonproliferation and No First Use etc

IMO this is pretty much a successful color revolution by Western intelligence. Watch as the detente between Saudi Arabia and Iran breaks down. This is the imperialist response to Saudi Arabian dedollarization.

Yup, so much for the Bell helicopter "accident".... just like the Nord pipeline accident, the Bierut port explosion accident, the lab leak accident, the EUV warehouse accident, etc etc etc

China needs to defend and counter, and do some more rug pulling of its own while its at it
