There was that article recently where it was reveal that Vice President Dick Cheney was trying to goad China into any military action against Taiwan so it would be used as an excuse for the US to attack China. I'm sure there are plenty of Republicans today that would love to have the US killing Chinese to express their power. Killing is the ultimate expression of power and they need to put the Chinese in their place. Back then it was seen that the US military could take on China. Why the West hates Xi is because China is now an innovative power in the world. The US military ability to be able to handle China is in question but that doesn't stop Republicans from wanting to attack China militarily because they need to express their power.

Are people questioning that Xi is wrong that the US wants to use Taiwan as an excuse to attack China militarily? Of course they are. It isn't just Taiwan. You don't think the US put it in Marcos' head that if China killed a Filipino in any conflict in the South China Sea, it could be considered an act of war? It's just Americans don't have the stomach to lose their lives in a war. That's why they're trying to organize other countries to do their fighting for them. That's their new strategy. The US is afraid to send troops to Ukraine because it can escalate to something worse. That isn't going to happen regarding China? You don't think the US wouldn't mind the return of anti-Chinese pogroms?

AI is the final frontier (not space, not star trek) and AGI/ASI is humanities last final invention....

Even back in 2015 the Google Deepmind CEO said that the purpose was to solve AI and use AI to solve all the rest of mankinds problems etc....

In a sense AI is the great equalizer amongst peoples in that soon the wage labor of janitors and CEOs will become the same, $9 an hour to pay for electricity power to run the AI inference models delivered via API calls,.... but an absolute total centralized control for the hegemon that rents out this AI as a service that through the power of "network effects" entrenches itself by way of state of art tech and first movers advantage to embed and lock-in and infiltrate every tranche, stratum, level, layer of every process, work flow, platform, ecosystem, market, application, service, everywhere on the planet.....

US AI such as OpenAI aims to be the central dominant "control plane" and "management plane" of which all other nations and their goods, products, devices, tools, etc etc will be relegated to thinclient dummyterminal data plane devices....

This is how US intends to take over the world again, by positioning its AI as the glue that is ubiquitous and pervasive and omnipotent and the singular chokepoint that everyone else in the world depends upon.... and it will leverage this to tax every transaction, every device, every compute everywhere...

The OpenAI paetnership with Apple means all app devs will by default use openai as the ai platform and service of choice.... As more and more products from cars to toys to websites bake in openai api into their products and services, openai will become more entrenched than Andriod, Windows, or Google Play ever was. No wonder NSA has taken interest and gotten involved....

AI is the game changer, its the ultimate reset button. And US elites on betting big on AI helping USA win against China, its America putting all the chips and the kitchen sink on the table....

All the more reason that a society individualistic to the point of sociopathy cannot be allowed to "solve" mankind's problems. AGI/ASI is a race that China must win. The good thing is that generative AI models are still in their infancy and compute power shortfalls can be rectified by distributed computing or lightweight models. There is no obvious leader in the field yet.

There is absolutely nothing about OpenAI that will make the US dominate, the US wished that high tech was the key to winning a war. It's the ultimate dead end fascist fantasy where the uber mensch deserves to dominate the unter mensch because of its fancy toys.
Seen the same stuff being said during deep learning saga in the 2010s, from the birth of the machine god to skynet taking over etc.

The only reset button the US had was the nuclear reset option, because they were a couple of decades ahead in tech in the early 2000s. But in the 2020s you can nuke the planet, but i don't think the US will be biggest or most capable one that will emerge from the ashes.
Doing the nuclear reset would pretty much mean the planet will be a Chinese planet as long as the PRC survives, pure because China outbuilds everyone when it comes to infrastructure connecting back the pockets of survivors within China and Eurasia.

The American had a ready excuse the SCS is not under the MDT agreement so any casualties there will be considered as local event between the Chinese and the Filipinos. Plus sinking 1 aircraft carrier or any capital ship is considered a loss of American prestige, they were there to show the flag and intimidate NOT for shooting and fighting, that's the job of her vassals not hers.
