What is this forums take on Europe's decline??
Is Europe's decline only economical??
Or are they falling behind in influence, military and technology as well??
Europe has fell behind in consumer electronics since the 1980s and never really recovered. They are falling behind in software as well.

Next generation weapon systems like the 5th generation fighter also have been a disaster. Although there are relatively successful programs as well. Like the FREMM frigate, the M51 SLBM, the PzH 2000, etc.

Influence: Europeans only watch Hollywood. No really, top 10 box office in every European country is 9/10 or 10/10 Hollywood.

Military: France ran out of ammo attacking Libya, a country with 1/4 its population on its doorstep in a civil war.

Technology: the only European software company of note is SAP founded in the 1970s.

You tell me.

I would add ASML lithography and Airbus in technology as the most prominent European high tech companies.

They never really were influential the last 8 years it was mostly the US that made them influential. You could see this with them fumbling their Iran dealing. Or posting fake news regarding scoring Qatari energy deals after having sanctioned Russian energy.

Militarily we have seen Ukraine wouldn't be surprise if European arms manufactures become parts manufactures that will supply US arms manufacturers.

Only tech Europe still has a small lead is tech that was perfected pre 2010 think Airplanes and ICE vehicles. They don't really do high end semi conductors for Europeans if you want to make it big in software you learn to get Hired by US bigtech either locally in Europe or willing to migrate to the US. Once you have earned enough you might decide to go back to Europe and enjoy slower pace of development.

Present day Europe without Russia is irrelevant, they're an ideal couple if you ask me.
Daddy US doesn't agree bruh...
Its like a tragic love story that ends well for Russia because they have China
but Europe ended up as a impotent raging alcoholic in the gutter.

Dream on and wish you luck, with many lucrative choices like Arizona, Japan and China who is foolish enough to go to India?

2 days ago — Successful candidates will undergo 18 months of initial training in Taiwan and must be willing to relocate to India. Roles open for Taiwanese ...
LOL... Their workplace in India will be Tata's upcoming semiconductor fab in Dholera, Gujarat. Gujarat is the hometown of Modi Ambani, Adani, and Tata. It has been called by an American expat who had spent 21 years in India as one of the greatest rape hell holes of India. Gujarat is run by the Hindutva mafia instead of any semblance of the rule of law in India. People working there are at risk of getting robbed or raped by Hindutva thugs and policemen, or even die from the roof collapsing over their heads.

It appears that India is trying to steal Chinese Taiwanese experts away to help develop its semiconductor Supapowar ambitions. Why go there at all? This whole semiconductor project won't work anyway under the stupid leadership of Modi. Every major project that he had launched had either failed or never completed. Their only success stories are their launch ceremonies. Those new fab plants would either turn out to be terrible disappointments, or by the time they were completed and running, China would already have cutting-edge fabs of its own to rival the bests in the world.

LOL! Bro. They never made an ideal couple for centuries already. Even during the golden ages of the West-Russian romance of Tsarist Russia, the West had continued to undermine Russia. The West had always wanted to colonize Russia, even when most Russians are white and Christian. There were many temporary alliances over the centuries, but they always break up and go back to being the worse of enemies.

If Russia makes an ideal partner with Europe because of Russia's vast resources, then China is also another ideal partner, because of its massive market and industrial output. It doesn't matter anyway, because Europe had chosen Uncle Sam, that parasitic, paranoid, and abusive bully as its partner for life. So good luck to Europe.

Look up Burn Lin. He's a Taiwanese guy whos the brains behind lithography. Asml and tsmc cut a deal which is how asml came to acquire such technology.

As far as I'm concerned asml as basically leeching off that guys work. That's why they are scared China is scared they will have their own Burn Lin coz then asml's leeching will end. If the day China produces another one of him, you shall see.

On a side note, it's amazing how Taiwan had all these brains decades years ago. And now for some reason, they only have mostly have DPP tier retards now. Where on earth did all the brains go?

I can say that after the start of the 2022 Ukraine Conflict, Europe's decline is terminal.

Is Europe's decline only economical??

Europe already started to decline economically since the 2008 financial crisis and the 2009 Eurozone crisis. They have been going downhill ever since. Brexit, Covid, Ukraine, and Cold War 2.0 are only just accelerating the process.

The War on Terror, Arab Spring conflicts, Ukraine conflict, and the Gaza war had severely discredited European moral legitimacy. It had exposed them as neo-imperialists who also happened to also be getting more incompetent as time progresses.

Europe is severely lagging behind in software, semi-conductors, and consumer electronics. Nevertheless, I still think that Europe holds significant technological advantages in several other areas like IC engines, Turbine engines, aviation machinery, lithography machines, and particle physics. CERN in particular, has no known rivals in the East. So despite the general European decline, CERN is still attracting talented physicists from around the world to do their research there. In Asia, China has been talking about build the next super particle-accelerator, the CEPC, but until that becomes a reality, Europe still holds the lead in particle physics research.

Military technology wise, I think Europe only has some pocket success stories like the FREMM program, Type 212 diesel sub, MBDA Meteor, Storm Shadow, NLAW, etc. But these are only decent for today's battlefield. What Europe doesn't have are enough weapon projects for the future. Europe is heavily reliant on the US for much of its defense procurement, and that had made them either lazy to R&D, or bullied out of the market by the American defense firms. Military technology is one area where Europe would actually be in deep trouble, if not for American support.
