France preparing contingent of 2,000 troops to be sent to Ukraine — intelligence chief

According to Sergey Naryshkin, the French military "fears that such a large military unit cannot be transferred and stationed in Ukraine unnoticed"

MOSCOW, March 19. /TASS/. The Russian side has information that France is preparing a military contingent of 2,000 troops to be sent to Ukraine, Director of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) Sergey Naryshkin said.

"The current leadership of the country (France - TASS) does not care about the deaths of ordinary French people or about the concerns of the generals. According to information coming to the Russian SVR, a contingent to be sent to Ukraine is already being prepared. Initially, it will include around 2,000 troops," he said.

According to the Russian foreign intelligence chief, the French military "fears that such a large military unit cannot be transferred and stationed in Ukraine unnoticed."

"It will thus become a legitimate priority target for attacks by the Russian armed forces. This means that it will suffer the fate of all the French who have ever come to the Russian world with a sword," he stressed.

After a conference on Ukraine in Paris, French President Emmanuel Macron did not unequivocally rule out potential sending Western land troops to the zone of the special military operation in Ukraine. He also vowed that Western states would "do what is needed" to prevent Russia’s victory in this conflict.

President Biden told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during their call on Monday that he is not trying to undermine him politically, two sources with knowledge of the call told Axios.

Why it matters: In recent weeks, Netanyahu has been fuming both in private and in public over what he saw as attempts by the White House and Democrats in Congress to weaken him politically inside Israel.

If India still continues down this path. It is gonna find itself at war eventually. Many border wars, including the 1962 war had arrogant statements like this. India is lucky that China is a very patient and mature nation. Other democratic nations like Russia would not have been as forgiving.

Probably get deployed either at Odessa or at Ukraine's border with Belarus

If things go ok, then expect a bigger deployment later on.

Question #1:
Is Russia willing to bomb these troops?

Question #2:
Given the increasing escalation in Ukraine, has CMC activated all those Chinese automated missile production factories? If not, seems like a good time to start

They are going to have to. Failure to response will only embolden the West to send hundreds of thousands into Ukraine.

(French Army Chief of Staff) General Pierre Schill said that France could engage a division of 20,000 troops in a coalition within 30 days and could itself command an army of around 60,000 soldiers by joining other allied nations.

Schill said a display of French military capabilities would help to "deter any attack on France". He quoted the Latin adage "si vis pacem, para bellum" -- "if you want peace, prepare for war".

It probably depends on where they will deploy and whether that location is ok for Russia. IMO one of the biggest flashpoints would be an Odessa deployment.

If French troops deployed there, then the Russian (I assume) plan for making Ukraine a landlocked country will be trashed unless Russia is willing to forcefully attack them

In any case, the situation could get quickly out of control thus China has to be ready to open the equipment floodgates for Russia if NATO doesn't proceed with caution.
