Tuvalu's pro-Taiwan leader loses seat in national election

The pro-Taiwan leader of the Pacific Islands nation of Tuvalu, Kausea Natano, lost his seat in an election closely watched by Taiwan, China and the US, results showed on Saturday.

Tuvalu, with a population of about 11,200 spread across nine islands, is one of three remaining Pacific allies of Taiwan, after Nauru cut ties this month and switched to Beijing, which had promised more development help.

Natano had pledged to continue support for Taiwan, a diplomatic ally since 1979. Another leadership contender, Seve Paeniu, has said diplomatic ties should be reviewed, with the new government deciding whether Taiwan or China can best respond to Tuvalu's needs.

Social media + smartphone cameras are very powerful tools. Crimes that were previously hidden by Western media control can no longer be hidden.

Regardless of what some of us may think of the Chinese woman's conduct from the video that recently went viral creating yet another anti-See See Pee b.s. from the usual suspects in the U.K. and elsewhere, the woman is feeling under duress both physically and mentally from the alleged threat she's been getting non-stop both from social media and maybe personally as well.

So if you're of Chinese or even of Asian descent trying to defend or god forbid, place things in context in terms of the interaction between the piano man and the Chinese flag waving ladies, you'll be accosted as CCP loving commies and such label would pretty much leave you isolated in the west where most people have this warped idea of China to begin with.

I don't even like the guy much but as I get older I see his points more clearly. The west is like that coz they believe they are on the winning side so they can get away with picking in Asians so easily. And that's fine coz winners are the ones who write who's the good guys. So when they're not, they should expect the same to be done to them and they shouldn't whine about it. They will be treated as Nazis monsters who attacked innocent people and will be shamed for it generationally. Call "getting equal" as Trump said.

Normal people used to call this behavior "bullying." Kinda disappointing for Hong Kong/Taiwan Han Jians , especially living in the west cheering this on. Increasing the chance of Hate crime to yourself in the west to "own" the ccp governing in a country you don't even live in anymore but it is in reality rather to annoy the random internet china supporter wondering around the web.

We call this punching down. It's especially common in asia. Japanese and Koreans are such good nationalists but only towards other Asians. When some white guy comes, they say how high before he even tells them to jump.
