The Software engineer makes $1800 a month ($36k a year, 5 years work experience, studying in Public Schools) but saying housing cost $50K to $80K in Metro Manila. i think Software engineer standard of living will be higher in Manila than most of West. I havent consider other variables.

US rep. Nancy Mace wants to free pandas born in the US by keeping them imprisoned in US zoos. Too late since contracts for pandas in the US are about to expire. Just like how in the US how you make corruption not corruption so Americans can say corruption doesn't happen in the US is as simple as making corruption legal under the law, they'll just write a law so they can break the rule of law so they can claim they care about the rule of law.
There is a reason for the pandas to be leased out to begin with. The money raised by such means is invested back into wildlife conservation, especially of wild pandas.
I don't think China is that money hungry anymore that it needs to rent out its Pandas to earn money. They are used as a tool for diplomatic goodwill. But now that goodwill is eroding and cold war is ongoing, China is getting those Pandas back from the west. But that doesn't mean China won't provide Pandas to other countries. It will provide them to countries that are friendly to it. Like Russia or Saudi Arabia might get Pandas now.
China is disengaging from the west and engaging heavily with the global south.
And nowhere can you see this more blatant than the Snowden PRISM scandal where the USG allows itself to violate privacy and conduct industrial espionage by writing a flimsy permission slip and after the scandal, they went through the kabuki of formalising a kangaroo court for itself, staffed entirely by their own insiders.
In a way, this is typical of the Anglo culture of formalised courts and laws which they stole from the Romans, the same way they accuse Chinese for stealing the design of the F22 just because the planes follow the same laws of physics. It’s typical of the Anglo culture of facesaving appearances of impartiality and puritanical virtue signaling whilst indulging in all manner of debauchery behind closed doors.
Look at what’s happening in the world today, Palestineans have to hold up the dead bodies of children not because it will elicit human sympathy and compassion from the Anglo leaders, but because it’s is putting these moral blowhards on the spot: you say you are morally superior and a champion for human rights? Then stop this massacre the way you stopped Saddam Hussein for gassin the Kurds.
And with every day that passes, in the face of western inaction, the power and prestige of the West and their ability to compel obedience erodes more and more.
I considered moving to the Philippines as a senior software engineer, but i would have to take to big of a paycut compared to what i currently have in the Netherlands. But if you already have like $50~100k or so saved up it might be an interesting place to go to.. Software engineer will be a mid/high end middle class income level in pretty much any country relatively seen to the rest of the jobs..
If you can cheat by remotely working for western company getting western pay but living in Manila you will most likely live like a king.
Unfortunately, I've also seen pictures like that. They're utterly heartbreaking.

The Chinese people should never let their guard down. The West wants to do to the Chinese people what they are currently doing to the Palestinian people. The moment that opportunity presents itself, they'll pounce on it. That is why so many Chinese people, myself included, come to forums like SDF to celebrate Chinese military advancements.
They will come for all us "minorities" especially us from troublesome countries, we need to stick together.
Panda freedom, such an important piece of legislation. Truly we can see the fruits of democracy in this.
Also should this pass and Biden later gets re-elected, GOP can blame the ungrateful panda vote…
