I don't know why people would go to western countries for tourism when South East Asia exists.
Its mainly for culture, lifestyle, and bragging rights. For Asians from the tropics, the climate is a bonus. There is actually no right or wrong. South East Asia is great, but Western countries are just a different experience.

I have enjoyed travelling to Western countries too, but I don't worship the West. I know that Paris has some great points of interests, but there's plenty of ugly under the surface too. Nevertheless, if there are SEAsians looking for cooler climate, culture, modern cities, and photographs, China is the better choice for today. Its closer, cheaper, cleaner, safer, and minus the racism.

Not enough gold to feasibly return to a Gold Standard. A Bimetal Standard may be possible with Silver especially since it’s more plentiful and

in the coming years.

Theres no practical or feasible way of returning to a gold standard(or any hard commodity based standard) short of starting off fresh after a complete collapse of the global financial system. All the contrarian economists who chant about going back to the gold standard never address the elephant in the room: “how?”

A fiat peg would be the first(of many) steps of going to a gold/silver/etc standard, but you never hear them make statements like “1 gram gold = 1 yuan” or “lets back each dollar with 1/100th oz of gold” or “20 USD = 1oz silver”, etc.

So say they manage to do that first step, then you can start going down a rabbit hole of other issues and unforeseen consequences like how to handle all the outstanding debt in the world. Creditors would demand to get paid back in gold, leading to everyone suddenly going on a mad scramble for gold, skyrocketing it's value and making the currency peg in step 1 almost impossible to maintain.

Now you're back at square 1, or worse yet, a complete collapse of the global financial system(but then, they'll finally get there fresh start after unimaginable economic chaos).

Saudi Arabia has not committed to allowing Israeli representatives to enter the kingdom for the UNESCO World Heritage Committee’s September meeting in Riyadh, Israeli officials and Western diplomats with direct knowledge of the issue told Axios on 30 June.

According to Axios, “Saudi Arabia appears to be taking a cautious approach to any public steps that could be seen as normalization with Israel.”

TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The Ministry of National Defense (MND) tracked 26 Chinese military aircraft and seven naval vessels around Taiwan between 6 a.m. on Friday (June 30) and 6 a.m. Saturday (July 1).

Twelve of the detected aircraft (including four SU-30s, two J-10s, two J-16s, a BZK-005 UAV RECCE, a U-8 ASW and two H-6s) crossed the median line of the Taiwan Strait or entered Taiwan’s southwest and southeast ADIZ. In response, Taiwan sent aircraft, naval ships, and used land-based missile systems to monitor PLA activity.

In June, China dispatched 363 military aircraft and 155 naval ships around Taiwan.

On June 30, 2023, U.S. President Joe Biden accepted the Letter of Credence of China’s new Ambassador to the United States Xie Feng in the Oval Office of the White House. President Biden welcomed Ambassador Xie to his new post, and had a conversation with Ambassador Xie on the China-U.S. relationship.

Biden's face shows very visible marks just when the Chinese Ambasador (Biden's handler) comes back to town. Coincidence :p

Europe is chockfull of UNESCO sites and museums to explore, and many of them are quite beautiful. And for what its worth, they marketed it well to the world, so people come. Don't know how attractive it'll remain with all the crime and the locals growing less hospitable, but the attraction is there for a reason.

I enjoy my trip in Asia, Cheap and great food with beautiful people (except for arrogant HKG people). My business is in the travel industries, Europe and North America is my bread and butter were I derived most of my profit BUT instead of a relaxing trip (me and my wife usually escort the group) I'm always exhausted, after 5 days of the 2 week itinerary I feel bored and want to go home. The food suck and expensive, I always crave for Asian cuisine especially RICE. There is a silver lining though, when I come home I lost a lot of weigh and my wife is happy. ;)

That’s the thing. China’s conventional forces already can guarantee the existence of NK. A nuclearized NK will simply complicate things, not in a good way for China.
I wish I can say that so confidently when the richest and most powerful nation on Earth couldn't even guarantee the existence of South Vietnam from a bunch of forest-dwelling rice farmers, or the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan from a bunch of mountain-dwelling goat herders.
