I wish I can say that so confidently when the richest and most powerful nation on Earth couldn't even guarantee the existence of South Vietnam from a bunch of forest-dwelling rice farmers, or the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan from a bunch of mountain-dwelling goat herders.
Both of those were guerilla wars. Any war to secure the existence of NK would be like the first; a large scale conventional war against the US.

The point is not having to go to war in the first place to secure the existence of any country or regime for that matter.

EDIT:
If South Vietnam was in Mexico's location, then you could
How's that conventional deterrence working out for Russia vis-a-vis the West on Ukraine?

I suppose that the Indian Navy will conduct frequent intrusion into China's own backyard in the South and East China Seas + the Taiwan Strait from now on alongside their American masters and lackeys.

Therefore, the military planners in Beijing should consider the Indian Navy as an active participant in any HBHP conflict in the WestPac region, and respond accordingly.

They should fortify the bus and turn it into a safari.
How dare you insult these peaceful protesters by comparing them to animals?

I'd still advise Chinese to witness the peaceful demonstrations in France from the safety of their couches rather than being there in person. You know, the protesters are just peacefully protesting for freedom, but innocent bystanders can still get hurt, especially when the draconian French police becomes involved.

These same HYPOCRITES WERE ALL ABOUT FREEDOM, DEMOCRACY AND DOWN WITH THE SEE SEE PEE WHEN THE HONG KONG ROACHES WERE DOING THEIR attempt and attention to DESTROY HONG KONG and damage mainland China at the same time.

You'd think that people living in the garden would have better gardeners and therefore SOLUTIONS that are effective in handling these types of problems without resorting to the time old tested use and application of BRUTE FORCE, CENSORSHIP (Macron has tasked Social media to remove sensitive contents), blames violent video games for the young people's predeliction to violence (Yet, calls China's action in banning certain video games as limiting Freedom).

France is a JOKE just like the rest of these howling hyenas that purports to spout freedom nonsense.

Enjoy the taste of your medicine and hypocrisy.

BERLIN, July 1(Reuters) - Germany's coalition government is at odds over whether to bow to British pressure and approve the production of Eurofighter Typhoon fighter jets for Saudi Arabia, the newspaper Welt Am Sonntag reported on Saturday, citing anonymous sources.

A deal struck by Riyadh and BAE Systems (BAES.L) five years ago for the arms maker to supply 48 such jets was put on hold due to the war in Yemen, where Saudi-led Arab forces intervened in 2015.

Chancellor Olaf Scholz of the left-leaning Social Democrats (SPD) and Finance Minister Christian Lindner are leaning towards allowing the export, but the Greens, and parts of the SPD, are strongly against the move, according to the report.

July 1 (Reuters) - China's ruling Communist Party appointed central bank Deputy Governor Pan Gongsheng as the bank's party secretary on Saturday, a move the Wall Street Journal said would be a prelude to becoming governor.

The party's Central Organization Department announced the decision at a meeting on Saturday afternoon, the People's Bank of China (PBOC) said in a statement on its website.

The Journal reported hours earlier that Pan would be named to the party post before being appointed by the government to head the PBOC.

The appointment of Pan, who turns 60 this month, comes as expectations rise for the authorities to take steps to boost the world's second-largest economy. A slowdown is deepening and spreading with the waning of a burst of activity following the lifting of strict COVID-19 controls.

The central bank said on Friday it would implement prudent monetary policy in a "precise and forceful manner" to support economic growth and employment.

Pan has deep experience with Chinese banks and policy. He did post-doctoral research at Cambridge University and was a senior research fellow at Harvard University, and has been the deputy governor of the PBOC since 2012, according to the SAFE and PBOC websites.

The current governor, Yi Gang, has been widely expected to retire since being left off the ruling Communist Party's Central Committee during the party's once-in-five-years congress in October.

Under Chinese President Xi Jinping, the Communist Party has tightened its grip on the financial system, and the central bank has seen its regulatory power eroded in recent reshuffles and restructuring of institutions.

TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — In order to counter the growing threat from China’s navy, the military is speeding up the production of anti-ship missiles, reports said Saturday (July 1).

The subsonic Hsiung Feng II and supersonic Hsiung Feng III missiles are covered by the change, while mass production has started on an extended range version of the latter, the Liberty Times reported.

The Ministry of National Defense is gradually increasing its budget for the missiles, according to the report. Missile production will cost NT$15.5 billion (US$497 million) for 2023, NT$19.8 billion next year, and NT$22 billion in 2025.

While the Hsiung Feng II missiles currently in service have a range of 80 nautical miles (148 kilometers), an upgraded version could cover a distance between 160 km and 200 km. The quality of the new missiles is on the same level as anti-ship projectiles produced in the United States and Europe, the military said.

For the Hsiung Feng III missiles, the original maximum range has been increased from about 200 km to 400 km. In addition, the pace of production has been raised to 201 anti-ship missiles per year, including a total of 70 for the two versions of the Hsiung Feng III.

TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — For the first time, the Japan Forum for Strategic Studies (JFSS) is inviting academics from Taiwan to attend the military simulation of a conflict involving the Taiwan Strait, reports said Saturday (July 1).

The unofficial exercise scheduled for Tokyo this month will examine how a Chinese blockade of Taiwan and a large-scale assault will impact the region, per CNA. The simulation is the third since August 2021, but the first to invite military experts from Taiwan.

A delegation from the JFSS including senior former officers of the Japan Self-Defense Forces visited Taiwan in June. During their stay, they contacted the Institute for National Defense and Security Research (INDSR), one of Taiwan’s top defense think tanks.

Previous editions of the military simulations mostly involved Japan and the United States. The next event, scheduled for a weekend between July 15 and July 23, included Taiwan because of its location on key supply routes for Japan, per CNA.

The exercise will help plan the defense of Taiwan as well as show options for crisis management. The concept for the simulation was inspired by the late Prime Minister Abe Shinzo’s words that if Taiwan had an emergency, Japan also had an emergency, and so did the world.
