Can we stop posting every little insignificant bad-China take we come across on social media? Especially from random unheard of “academics” with no real credentials and a handful of Twitter followers? Serves no real purpose to discuss and debate his points here when the facts are obviously so wrong/misleading/outdated. We’re essentially trolling ourselves.

The raw materials for the medicine, in most cases, come from China in the first place.
As for aeroplanes, I expect China not to need any substantial imports of them in 5 years.
Car imports could likely be completely cut right now.

If the West sanctions these exports, they will only be further reducing their own global relevance.
raw materials does not enable you to make all the medicine. The Chinese made ICE vehicles exported to Russia have western branded tires/transmission/AWD /Bosch/Qualcomm.
I cannot comment on aero planes but just maintaining existing size of Boeing/Airbus will be tall order. I just dont think there is any one in East Asia that will put its neck inline for China in Aviation. when Chinese boycott G-20 meeting in India. Indians paraded Singaporean high commissioner and this creates negative impact on Mideastern countries who were forced not to attend as some segment of population spoke up and this India not even West.

I sense some Western MSM are getting tired of the US rhetorics. The above is from a local NZ news site, in the past it would refer the US plane as a surveillance plane instead of a spy plane. Reading the article it's void of sensational phrases like endangering the crew or violating international norms, etc. Instead, it's mostly quoting from a US statement, but crucially adding the term "spy plane" to accompany the quotes.
