Culture gap. The west emphasizes the individual over the collective. The scene in Wandering Earth 2 where
the elderly sacrifice themselves to blow up the moon will probably come off as cringy.
Actually I don't think the scene where the elderly sacrifice themselves is cringy. It is actually quite meaningful. The problem is the odd decisions by certain protagonists, sabotaging the mission because they got too emotional. The biggest problem I have with Wandering Earth is the concept of moving the entire planet itself to escape the Sun. If this was a Star Wars fictional universe, then fine, do it. But this was supposed to be a universe in our near future, with an actual PRC in it. The Chinese writers wanted to do a hard sci-fi movie, but using Star Wars fictional science. This for me, is difficult to take seriously. It does not respect hard science and the laws of the universe. Hence this movie for me, becomes another CGI spectacle like Guardians of the Galaxy. There is so much potential in Chinese sci-fi films, but the current crop of writers and directors are just not there yet.

Moon Man was also similar. They wanted to do a hard sci-fi film, but they had to include a cartoon kangaroo character in it. I get it, that there should be some creative freedom with sci-fi, but the Chinese way of doing it is quite cringy. There is still too much hangover from the Steven Chow style of movies. Some might argue that Avatar had many cartoonish creatures in it too. But they were quite maturely designed, portrayed, and explained. That is the one big factor lacking in Chinese sci-fi movies: Maturity.

Thaksin and his party are not issues. They know how to play the game. I trust them to be smart enough to maintain balanced relationship for US and China.

Move Forward Party are entirely difference, these guys are openly support HK protest back in 2019, have close contact with NED funding NGOS and even go as far as declare to choose side in current geopolitics conflict.

They also the one to ramping up anti-china movement in Thai social media. Now most of our young generation are look down on Chinese even downright hate them.
Thai youth looks down on Chinese people? Are they high or something? So they're no different than Filipinos then? Why are our poor neighbors think oh so highly of themselves when both of these countries are nothing but sex haven for the sex-hedonistic craven westerns, and horned up Asians? I don't get it.

They think because they can "vote" and have some form of western democracy automatically means they're better than commie China. This smacks of people being dumb by essentially choosing to select procedural democracy over substantive democracy where actual things on the ground and lives of ordinary people improve.

I think it is all fake.

Isn't 10% of Thailand's population ethnic Chinese?

And is it like 25% of the Thai population has Chinese blood in them, as Rodrigo Duterte once said he had Chinese blood as his grandfather was a Chinese.

Seriously doubt there is some sort of pure-Thai-Nazi type of party or movement in the Land of Smiles.

These CIA plots are becoming like silly jokes.
The Philippines and Filipinos according to a comprehensive DNA analysis those people only have 2% of Spanish blood and 25% of them have Chinese blood, yet those folks would rather be associated with Spanish ( their brutal colonizer that left them impoverished) than Chinese which goes to show how warped the mindset of these people truly have become.

So, it's not surprising that Thai people would harbor the same idiotic mindset towards Chinese people. The fact is commie = evil and that's been established to many around the world. Heck, even in Vietnam a supposed commie country even hates China and Chinese people and think they're superior to the Chinese as well which is deranged.

That young ''move forward" leader is bad news. Joshua Wong vibes and Harvard educated so likely extremely pro US and NED funded. I do not like this development even one bit. Several more American military bases + another hostile country incoming it seems.

------------------------------
Move Forward's Pita Limjaroenrat speaks, confirming that he has talked to parties including Pheu Thai, Prachachart, Thai Sang Thai and the Thai Liberal Party. He says this puts his budding coalition in line for 308 seats. He adds that he is now in talks with another small party to get to 309 seats. "With this formula, it is clear that we have a full right to form a majority government," Pita says.

He says Move Forward, Pheu Thai and other parties have already set up a transition team.

He also issues a message for the 250 military-backed senators, whose votes have the power to sway the choice of prime minister. "It is time for the 250 senators to think and decide their stance, whether they would listen to the people's wish. If they care about the people, there will be no problem" for Move Forward to eventually form a majority government.

Meh, their country, their choice. We may not like their choice but it's their responsibility to accept whatever comes at them if the recently elected government will decide to play the anti-China policies. Who knows, the new government may even join with the PH to patrol the South China Sea along with Japan, South Korea, and of course the mighty U.S.A who's definitely smiling with this latest result with glee.

US Oligarchs are only whining now because they realise the US will be in the smaller of the blocs, effectively turning themselves into north korea. They weren't complaining when the trade war was in full swing.

About time, the Greens are a death cult either via devolving into the palaeolithic or American hegemony.

Stiglitz may mean well but he's been in the ivory tower for too long.

The other countries of the Genocide 7 are essentially slaves being whipped by the hegemon, these slaves cannot pressure their master, they're too weak and too few of them.

It's kind of weird maybe it's just cultural inertia. The people that can now vote for the first were born around 2000s probably still grew up in the peak of western supremacy. So the view of the west being the land of milk and honey is still ingrained in their heads.

While we who live in the west and are also a hell of a lot more interested in geopolitics see how the wind has been blowing the last 7 years or so. There's a reason why in the last 3 years anti China propaganda has been in overdrive it's too keep rest of the world in this 2008s view of the west.

It’s funny to see these weak countries look down on China. It’s like a bunch of failed losers in class looking down on the A+ student in class that is good at academics, sports and every other extracurricular activity. Where are these so called ‘superior’ countries that look down on China in economics, finance, military, science and technology, sports.

It’s not democracy, communism, monarchy, dictatorship, it’s about governance. China is the best governed country on this planet. China developed itself without being a vassal state to anyone, without giving up its independent foreign policy, without plundering the world through wars.
