I find Zhao "meh" because of his tendency to post unconfirmed things as facts. He was like this before he started his Twitter account too. But this post is 100% true. China, if it fought the USA, would have second thoughts about striking US bases in Japan and Australia if they haven't gotten used yet. The Philippines is different because of its very weak military. There would be zero qualms about the destruction of the EDCA bases and the infrastructure supporting them. In fact, it would be done as an example for Japan and Australia to see if they aren't involved yet.

, Xi told a meeting of the Central Financial and Economic Affairs Commission on Friday. He also highlighted the importance of talent, which is essential to China’s ongoing efforts to upgrade the economy as it faces US efforts to contain it and a growing demographic challenge, a report by state news agency Xinhua said.

“[We need to] push for the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries, instead of letting them retreat to become ‘low-end industries’,” the meeting heard. The report signals that Beijing’s stimulus effort will be highly focused on the advanced manufacturing sector and non-financial elements of the economy.

“[We should] focus on improving the overall quality of the population and strive for an appropriate birth rate and population size,” the commission concluded in its first meeting since the

that confirmed Xi in an unprecedented third term as party chief.

It stressed that industrial security is “the priority among priorities”, and urged businesses to innovate.

Shao Yu, chief economist at Oriental Securities, said “industrial security”, meant Beijing wanted to maintain control of the complete industrial chain rather than allowing others to control key areas.

China’s annual economic work conference late last year also stressed the importance of development and security for its industries.
“Improving human resources is another key issue as there’s no more population dividend for China now,” Shao added.

India has overtaken China as the world’s most populous nation, the United Nations said last month, after China recorded its first population fall in six decades last year, down 850,000 to 1.41 billion.

This means the number of working-age people – who powered its growth in previous decades – will fall in the coming years. Huang Wenzheng, a demographer who has written extensively on China’s birth rate, said the country needs stronger policies to deal with a

.

“Existing policies may not be able to stop the birth rate from falling further, let alone raising it to the population replacement level,” he said. “The number of people is the basis of quality. A low birth rate not only brings a shrinking population size, but also an ageing population and falling number of talents. It’s a double whammy.”

Huang added: “As the West decouples from the Chinese economy, it’s becoming harder for China to enjoy a scale effect from the external environment, which makes maintaining its large population more important. “The Western system dominated by the US is a billion-person economy that absorbs talent from across the world. It’s enjoying greater benefits from the population than China in terms of finance, market, industrial technology and even language and culture.

“Raising the birth rate above replacement level and maintaining the population size are key issues for not just the Chinese economy and competitiveness in science and technology, but also the entire nation’s power and people’s living standards.”

Officials at Friday’s meeting vowed to cultivate modern human resources with “good quality, sufficient quantity, an optimised structure and reasonable distribution” to support China’s modernisation.

They also pledged to speed up efforts to build a “fully fledged, advanced and secure” modern industrial system, which will help China “to maintain strategic advantages in future development and international competition”, Xinhua said.

The meeting also called for the opening up of international industrial and supply chains. “We should make great efforts to foster world-class enterprises, cherish and value outstanding entrepreneurs and cultivate great craftsmen,” the meeting said. The officials also vowed to tighten the Communist Party’s control over the Chinese economy in line with Xi’s previous comments that the party should have “centralised and unified leadership”.

He has since moved to increase the party’s influence by setting up committees to oversee areas such as financial markets and technological development. Those attending the meeting included Premier Li Qiang, the finance commission’s deputy director, Xi’s chief of staff Cai Qi and vice-premier Ding Xuexiang.

The USA used military bases in Thailand, Japan and Philippines to wreck havoc and cause millions of death in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia during the 1960s. Asian leaders love to be a staging ground for the US. They do not have much difficulty finding Asian launch pads for death and destruction.

Either way, the war is a good case study on why capitalist societies tend to fight bad once the fights get more difficult.
Name me one country that got successful without free flow of people with a capitalist society. Even today look at scale of Russian flights with Turkey.
Putin didnot visited Wagner when he in Ukraine. rather he observed vehicles of socialist times.

Putin reveals something that caught his attention and instructs officials to take the necessary measures. Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the residents of the new regions of Russia are organized, disciplined, and serious about their work, stressing that they definitely need real help. . Speaking during a meeting of the Russian government, he said: “I have already talked about my trip to both Kherson and Luhansk, what caught my attention is that I saw a lot of old cars of the model “Lada” and “Jigoli” that I had not seen for a long time .. What does this mean? This means that people have a very modest income.” . As the head of state noted, "cars immediately indicate certain ideas." "At the same time - maybe it's different everywhere, but the distances we've traveled are still very long - what I saw: everything is clean, everything is orderly and meticulous. It means that the people who live here are disciplined and hardworking.. but they certainly are Need real help."

The German economy has become the Yankee’s servant, harshly pressed by its own dumbheads from the Chancellery; so now it is unclear how it’s going to explain to its own citizens, batting its eyes innocently, why it has failed to eat its cake and have it, too.
German economy is not US servant. Just look German car production in NAFTA vs Japanese or even Korean. Than this German led Green agenda that is inherently costly to US industry , oil and gas. I am not going into this German led vaccine. read PBD broadcast about it. Germany going out of civilian nuclear business will impact these suppliers across Europe. German failure to turn Europe into consumer electronics production site that made US more reliant on Asia. than comes the demographics which will be worse in Germany than Japan if you exclude all those outsiders and there will be failure in finding teachers to properly educate those demographics and that mismatch of skills will produce even housing shortage and further lack of productivity. German failure to compete with Japanese like Toray/MHI suppliers to Boeing. Mechanical engineering is core competency of Germany and here it has relatively minor role in PW GTF engines unlike Safran or RR aero. take minor but critical role and made every one depended. this advantage of globalization.

Germany simply unwillingness to do the burden sharing of ownership and has relegated itself to small suppliers to large firms but still playing geopolitical games China vs US or in Eastern EU. After Indian airline. more grounding. my thinking was this impact airline operated in hot and dusty condition but than Lufthansa may not operate in same condition. if on Indian salaries this thing not work so how can Lufthansa bear expenses unless state support. Everything responsibility on US.
