Real mission accomplished, unlike the other "superpower".

When push comes to shove, guess who can muster more coast guard vessels in the area.

Guess who will win an arms race.

As though we need more evidence which side the NYT is on. To save you time: the NYT is on the side of the murderous land barons in Brazil.

The weird thing is the rest of ASEAN kind of moved on at least in loud public rhetoric regarding South China Sea issues. The Philippines seems to continue pushing this way only against China not other claimants or parties in the SCS. Given Filipino societal structure with corruption in the top they seem to be the back up Asian Ukraine if the DPP fails with Taiwan.

Also if you hear western commentators regarding Ukraine they seem to think that after the Ukraine spring/summer counter offensive fails or succeed Russia will just let them rebuild a fourth or fifth army or give up. So i wouldn't be so surprised that the west thinks China will not attack or else the whole region will gather behind the Philippines. I think this will be a big mistake from the west and BBM regime.
The Ukraine strategy won't work in neither Taiwan nor Philippines because both would fold quickly without a direct US support. They are both island nations that depend on maritime trade routes - supplying them with weapons (like the West is doing in Ukraine) is going to be hard, the navy disparity between PLAN and TW\PH is way larger than the disparity between Russian & Ukrainian ground forces, same for air forces, and with both air & naval supremacy China can basically dictate the terms of war, controlling the pace and resources available to TW/PH.

hold on a sec.
is the ph situation actually spiralling out of control or is it just the usual media circus?

It’s more like PR propaganda to allow the US to turn the PH into a military staging platform against China. Militarizing the SCS was the correct choice after Obama military moves against China. Also Biden is going to meet with the PH president so the warmongers are clearly up to something.

Lets just say Russia "loses". Do Germans (which include austrians) think Russia won't reduce Germany+Austria's population to zero before this happens? 30 million soviet dead from the great patriotic war to be repaid with interest. height of stupidity.

Marcos Jr. is the Zelinsky of ASEAN/Asia. The man was elected with a considerable if not, outright historic landslide victory and his foreign policy was tacked and announced as balanced and not to be used by America as a pawn against China. Watch his speeches, his debate statements and prior statements on the Philippine-China relationship and the American constant meddling.

Now compared that to Zelensky, a man who campaigned on peace with Russia where he was elected overwhelmingly as well based on the false promise of peace and then 3 years later the War in Europe.
