2-Chinese Netizens know more about events in the world that people give them credit for that is one the reasons why more and more Chinese distrusting the United States because when they read the absolute garbage coverage of China by mainstream media, the lies, the hysteria, the double standards, the propaganda, the misconstruction of events and so on. That the only thing that normal Chinese people will feel understandably is nationalistic rage. In fact I would go as far as saying that if a good percentage of the Chinese population is bombarded daily with the anti-China crap as in the West, the nationalistic rage would be too great for the Chinese goverment to contain and people will go out to burn the Tesla factory, Tesla cars and apple smartphones.
The irony is that when you read Chinese media apart from opinion the news about events in the US are really tame compared to US media coverage of China, even today when US banks are failing one by one you don't see the bombastic headline that you in US media like Bloomberg about "collapse and gloom" and photoshoped pictures of US cities with grim filters, even opinions are tame compared to opinions of China in Western media. Is like the Chinese journalism is constrain by a set of rules while US and Western journalist have been given free range by their patrons to "lie, cheat and steal" in the case of China.
