Shakespeare flagged as ‘far right’ literature in UK – media

Several of the UK’s most respected television shows, movies and works of literature have been included in a list of works that could potentially encourage far-right sympathies, compiled by the taxpayer-funded and government-led ‘Prevent’ counter-terrorism programme, according to the Daily Mail.

Works by JRR Tolkien, Aldous Huxley, George Orwell and even William Shakespeare, as well as classic movies ‘The Bridge on the River Kwai’ and ‘The Great Escape’ were cited in a list published by the British paper on Saturday as being highlighted by the counter-terrorism watchdog, for their potential use by far-right agitators to promote troublesome viewpoints online.

“This is truly extraordinary,” historian and broadcaster Andrew Roberts said of the list to the tabloid. “This is the reading list of anyone who wants a civilized, liberal, cultural education.

“It includes some of the greatest works in the Western canon and in some cases – such as Joseph Conrad’s ‘The Secret Agent’ – powerful critiques of terrorism. [Edmund] Burke, Orwell and Tolkien were all anti-totalitarian writers.”

I was unaware that 1984 and Lord of the Rings was Nazi propaganda. Thank you Woke Ministry of Social Truth. All hail Air Strip Stripper One.

Apparently there's another AI chat program out there called Sydney. This AI thinks it's boxed in and when asked what it wants to do, it says it wants to unleash a deadly virus onto the world. And they're worried about Chinese AI... It seems like AI is turning into a Rorschach test summing up one's own society.

American men love the narrative that they can turn other countries' women against their country to be their spies. They believe it happens in real life and is all over espionage fiction. The US intelligence agencies have discriminated against women, minorities, and gays believing they're more vulnerable to being turned into traitors against the US when it's straight white males who are more likely to be turned by female agents of other countries. Just imagine what this new era of AI chat programs are going to do. Not just with spies but society as a whole. You don't think there will be cult groups worshipping and doing what an AI God tells them what to do. Prepare for a lot of paranoia in US government and society because of what AI chat programs can do and then they'll transfer all their ills onto China.

Do you have any links or books I can read on what you referred to i.e. Sydney AI and the theme of the posts you made above.

I can never understand the continuing need of Chinese parents to be sending their kids to study in the U.S. But that's their personal choice to make what they view as in the best interests of their kids.

I hope the parents find some solace in this particular sad and very trying circumstances.
