HAHAHAHAHA, Jai Hind!!!!!!

I'm sure it has NOTHING to do with the Modi documentary, the Indian government and its tax department are always and will be a beacon of impartiality.

The Indians are now dealing with the British the same way they are dealing with xiaomi, as they had claimed xiaomi was evading taxes?

rescue-story.png

An American family living in Antep (one of the worst hit areas in Turkey) came across a Russian rescue team. But they didn't answer back at the rescue team when they heard "davai davai". They were rescued 189 hours later. They told the rescuers they thought Russians wouldn't rescue them from the collapsed building since they were Americans, so they didn't answer back. The tweeter heard this story from the bulldozer operator who personally participated in the said rescue. Sad indeed.

I don't think it's him playing dumb. I think Marcos is trying to get a provocation which would justify further agreements with United States.

Philippines is an American-phile nation. They want our (American) protection, and United States is happy to play ball. I wouldn't be surprised to see ever-more bases and larger collaboration between the two countries in the next few years.

I wonder about the options they were evaluating at the time - To not get rescued because they were Russians vs to not get rescued if nobody else came.

That family made it sound like the Russians were gonna murder them if they found out where they were "hiding".

There is a long history of unwelcome books and films in India being banned, subject to official harassment, campaigns of intimidation, etc.

Two examples that come to mind are Satyajit Ray's 1971 film Sikkim recorded a few years before the Kingdom was annexed by India, and Wendy Doniger's "alternative history" The Hindus.

My basic attitude towards such things is that if powerful folks are trying to ban or suppress something, it is definitely worth checking out, which is why the latter is in my bookshelf, though admittedly I have been too lazy to read past the introduction.

(ECNS) -- Chinese gamer Li Peinan (Oliveira) won the championship at StarCraft II of the IEM (Intel Extreme Masters) Katowice 2023 in Poland on Monday.
Li beat South Korean player Maru 4 to 1 at the Grand Final.
Li is the first Chinese men's world champion of StarCraft II in more than two decades.
"Nothing is impossible," Li said after claiming the title.
The 23-year-old young man's game ID is TIME.
Intense and entertaining finals and Oliviera's (TIME) post win interview was pretty emotional that I think the interviewer herself was getting emotional as well.

Propaganda (the bad kind which is made of lies) clearly rots one's brain. These people clearly thought death was preferable to being rescued by Russians. My mind boggles at the idea of such an extreme. What kind of media were they consuming to reach such nonsensical ideas, to think of a rescue team no less?
