Sounds like a horrible idea that would just end up in making South America a puppet state for the US. They aren’t making a BRICs type of currency but the European Union style. We all know how that is going to end up financially, economically, and politically. Basically, just handing over the entire continent as a client state to the US.
They can do it if they do it properly, that is not doing the Euro way, doing it slowly like China's opening. I suppose that they should do it much slower than China's economy reform due to the natural of democracy where the government's policy is very fluctuating therefor less responsive to the need of actions. Maybe they should keep the ambition level low. I think it is good that they start with the new currency running in parallel to the Real and Pesso for a period (I hope as long as necessary).

Does it matter? Hell no! 'Asian' is a broad ethnic group. Shooting ppl who were celebrating the Chinese Lunar New Year is very intentional. If someone was shooting ppl celebrating Bar Mitzvah, would it not be called a hate crime? Why is the outrage so muted when its ppl getting killed celebrating a Chinese festival?
