I am sorry dude, but there is no way to respond to something as stupid like that. lol. Is clown world paranoia. And the worst part is that she got paid to write that brain numbing crappy article.

Everyone keeps crapping on Chinese propaganda/”soft power", but has anyone stopped and thought that maybe China is playing a masterful game of reverse psychology?

I mean what can be more harmful than making your adversary think Math is evil? In the long run, that's worse than physically bombing them, because it degrades their very civilization.

China does what a normal society does -- believe in science and humanity and act accordingly.

It was the west collectively that, under the pressure from competition, have lost their mind and started hysteria.

Can't comment on the Chinese threat aspect, but linear algebra still gave me nightmares even a decade after graduating, so maybe she's not wrong on that...

I don't think it's too crazy to question how much math people can learn at those ages. I don't think there is any point in forcing people to take classes in Calculus or more advanced algebra because it probably is setting them up for failure.

I don’t think it’s necessarily paranoia. It could be scapegoating China for clickbaits.

I read the article and I think she has a huge grudge against math. Likely because she got an F and maybe wore a dunce cap in the corner as punishment.

This is a pointless and unpleasant idea. Unpleasant because for those who struggle with maths, it is a deeply humiliating, fruitless process being made to do it to a level beyond the basic. And they will never remember it as anything other than hell - in short, it’d put them off for life.

“Deeply Humiliating.” Sounds way to personal to the author lmao.

I call this the "George Costanza school of geopolitics".
But anyway the anglo countries have always had an under current of anti-intellectualism, from time to time it surfaces.

Is maybe clickbait but it will probably feed the irrational fears of gullible who probably don't know better, that there is an evil Chinese conspiracy to tech mathematics to UK kids or something like that.
That is how they keep the propaganda machine running, by pushing their agendas into people normal daily lives, like "Chinese made toilets seats may spy your human waste". They do it willing or inadvertently, to keep people in a state of irrationality.

Dude, math is the basis of all fields of science.
