Ukraine probably doesn't have the ability at the present time to produce any MRE.
Well, if you were to believe our NATO friends in the other thread, the Ukranians aren't hungry or cold unlike the Russians who run around naked and begging for food or something

I mean, us troops (and pla) use flameless ration heaters.
ukraine gets us equipment, so warming up stuff without a fire is not hard
But they are rations meant to be heated that way with the appropiate packaging. I doubt the twitter dude has access to chemical warmers, the packaging that can sustain the chemical reaction and so on, though.

Also, the size of the thing seems to be too big to be warmed apropiately by a single chemical heater.

Zelensky whinning to NATO about granting Ukraine membership and how they basically owe it to them be let in

I usually refrain from commenting on real-time battlefield situations in the Ukraine war, but check this out:

Apparently, that wartime chef (Chef Zhenya) has never heard of something called Meal, Ready-to-Eat (MRE). MREs, despite being well known to have sh1tty tastes, can actually last for years instead of just one week.

Does he really believe that he could cook mom's dishes and have them served to the troops at the frontline when the opposing forces are actively shooting at them?

Besides, I don't think frontline troops would truly care about whether their meal are tasty or not, when all they are concerned about is to finish their meal, get re-energized before going back into the fight.

Here's more:

Is he suggesting the troops to carry a microwave and a generator machine to the frontline to reheat the food? What the hell?
TBH, from a soldiers perspective, if it has the calories, everything works fine. Being Infantry can cost you up to 5000 Kcal a day.

It does boost morale alot though if you know food doesnt taste like complete shit, given the fact that ukraine is freezing right now, spoiling food shouldnt be a problem either.

Problem with MRE is that there may be only 3-4 tastes so it gets bland very fast, war is not LARPing, but no need to stress the human behind every soldier with every little shit, doesnt make the soldier harder, only faster attritioned.

Throwing a homecooked meal into the mix once in a while works wonders on morale. Making it portable for sometime solves the availabilty question for frontline units & patrol.

In peacetime , here in germany one would be suprised how happy soldiers get when their unit has good food with them on a training day out in the woods.

I would be seriously robbed of energy if all my meals consists of EPa Nr. IV for a week or so. So long this homecooked whatever is not used as a MRE replacement but as a good will substitute at times, nothing is wrong.

I seriously support such investment from the lower echolons, but the guy seems just to be attention grabbing. But good idea, no need to completely shittalk, even if the contra side has some valid arguments.

Looks like the West is starting to move.

We will probably start seeing the US threaten China with Taiwan if they don’t bow down and cut all relations with Russia.

To tighten the finance and trade cordon established by Western countries, the U.S. is sending senior officials from major cabinet agencies to foreign capitals…. quietly threaten reluctant authorities and firms with punitive action, and gather information on networks suspected of ferrying supplies into Russia, according to administration officials.
“We want to avoid circumvention, both within Europe and then with third countries,” … “The longer we have any leakage…the more difficult it is to see things coming to a conclusion.”
