Interesting how I can read comments on Twitter. Since my account was suspended and can only access as a nonmember it use to be I could only read a few comments before it asked me to become a member in order to go further.

Anyways... is it possible that the Independent did this intentionally. I find that when I read comments a lot of people there obviously just read the headlines and don't read the story. If this did happen in China, they would conclude the entire Chinese system has failed which people who only read headlines would love to conclude.

I'm sure intentionally. It's impossible for the former colonizer to mix them up.

The tragedy also happened in Seoul's "foreigner district" Itaewon outside the US base. Odd how bad things always happen outside US oversea bases.
Yeah someone should mention that fact on the news. If it was near a Chinese base all the MSM would be mentioning that fact.

I'm surprised Russia doesn't be more vocal about how sanctioning those grain is causing the third world to suffer even more? If the west wants to open Ukrainian grain russia should have made a deal to export their grain as well.

Instead of improving the lives of its own people, now the U.S. wants to impoverish the lives of Chinese. This really reeks of desperation.
Sadly, but more tragically, the morbid obsession with the United States still exists in China.

I saw many people on the Internet openly express their envy of those who emigrated to the United States, and mocked that China is a country that people cannot stay in, and all elites want to escape.

Even though we all know how bad America's ability to cope with covid-19 is, those people show amazing self-confidence in their immunity: "How many rich Americans have COVID-19?"
”How many of those who say that the United States is bad are willing to return home? “
"Smart people will choose to leave here"
“Working in the United States is much better than working 12 hours a day in a factory. At least they have unions and labor laws”

Although strict disease prevention measures have protected many people, this absurd statement has spread rapidly. These people are really calling their country a "concentration camp".
It's disgusting and at the same time makes me feel afraid of the "American Dream", this dream can make anyone abandon all principles and go to the United States. Even if these people know nothing about their destiny.

Not funny jokes: A man with a certain social status decided to go to Mexico first and then smuggled into the United States from the border in order to go to the United States, but he was robbed many times and had to stay in Mexico. He was not a poor man, but he chose to use up all his property to go to the "free world" in his mind

Maybe for these people, I should follow the popular saying on the Internet: Give up the idea of helping them, because they have chosen their own destiny, and we should respect their choice.

But I still remembered how CNN reported tragedies that happened in China. They always try to spin them as the fault of the Chinese government.

But the most notorious of all was the way the Western MSM reported the Covid-19 outbreak in Wuhan. It was just so grotesque, it deserved its own thread.

Honestly at this point when they try to blame the Chinese government for anything bad that happens I just laugh it off.

Since Itaewon is near a US base and historically fed off US soldiers, Halloween is a US festival and Itaewon is just a gaudy, decadent nightlife district full of American culture, surely CNN should be blaming the US federal government for causing the Itaewon stampede?

My friend is from Hong Kong and had a stable job there. 3 years ago, he left HK due the protest and since then he work in a factory. I'm just speechless. Totally brainwashed.

On the other side I am going to study chinese at the spring semester 2023 for 12 months in China.
