Utopia is energy independent in same sense that i'm transport independent because i own a car though it doesn't run because i've no gas. Energy independence is an interesting concept that has two flow imo. Commercial supply & war time supply. Utopia created the illusion of being energy independent by fracking shell & making up for the cost of it by making other top producers keeping the price at certain level. China has largest shale oil/gas reserve in the world. It doesn't call itself energy independent.

The US itself can manage the oil cuts but they cannot also supply their vassals in Europe, simply not enough capacity. They are just throwing a tantrum because their EU toy is getting destroyed. Plus they wasted their strategic reserve for nothing. That's what virtue signalling based foreign policy model leads to.
Update. Looks like the dumping will continue in November by another 10 million barrels. Drain the Swamp Strategic Reserve. Last estimates from the DOE was around 350 million barrels by October.
MBS sees the huge decline of US' strategic reserve of oil and is licking his lips.

The moment the strategic reserve goes at a really low level, expect an even bigger escalation by Saudi Arabia. Either the US bends down (honourary white Japan-style) or 2023 is going to be a really bad year for the US. OPEC holds the US and the whole West by the balls

Kinda ironic, all the American social media influencer were talking about CHYNA collapsing the past month cumulating with Xi being couped. Doubt they know there own countries budget.
But they are the reserve currency. Does that debt really matter as much to them as other countries ?

I suspect they think they're a sovereign country and allowed to make decisions that don't benefit the US at the cost to themselves.

I realize that may come as a shock to some Americans.
It is proof that the americans do not defend sovereignty, only if it is convenient for their foreign policy. In fact, this situation is even beneficial because it is opening up american hypocrisy to the entire world, including its closest allies in the Middle East. Biden said he would run in 2024, I hope he wins.
