CNN: US Rep. Ro Khanna slams Saudi Arabia as ‘third-rate power’ as OPEC considers slashing oil output

US Rep. Ro Khanna is calling for the White House to retaliate against Saudi Arabia if OPEC and its allies slash oil production in a bid to boost prices.

“This is beyond the pale,” the California Democrat told CNN in a phone interview on Monday. “They are actively fleecing the American people and destabilizing the economy. That’s just outrageous. Who do they think they are?”

“It’s outrageous. The Saudis need to be dealt with harshly,”
said Khanna, a progressive who has been a tough critic of the kingdom’s humanitarian track record. “They are a third-rate power. We are the most powerful country in the world. I don’t know why we kowtow to them.”

Specifically, Khanna called on US President Joe Biden to make it clear to Saudi Arabia that the United States will cut off the kingdom’s aviation parts supply and prevent Raytheon and Boeing from selling to them.

“They are not our allies,” Khanna said of Saudi Arabia. “They are hurting the American people. And we need to be tough with them. The president needs to make it clear we will cut off their supply. We could ground their air force in a day.”

The Democrat criticized Biden’s shifting stance on Saudi Arabia, noting he opposed the president’s visit to the kingdom over the summer. Khanna said he wishes Biden would follow through on his campaign promise to make Saudi Arabia a “pariah state.”
wow mask off. esp those bolded parts. The article reminds me of one reason why UAE called off the F-35 deal. Apparently those American fighter planes need an activation code from US every time to fly, without which the bought planes will essentially be useless.

Taiwan just upped their sinophobic propaganda machine

Off to a great start -

None of the JP media seems to have reported this, let alone western MSM.

You'd think any face-off with the JP Coast Guard would be a Major International Incident TM .

10-hour stand-off between Taiwanese coastguard and Japanese patrol ship sparks call for talks
  • National Taiwan University research vessel was 69 nautical miles off Hualien when patrol ship said it was within Japan’s exclusive economic zone
  • Local critics argue that if relations between Taiwan and Japan are as good as Tsai government claims, such incidents would not keep occurring

Taiwan has called for talks with Japan to resolve long-standing maritime issues – including in overlapping exclusive economic zones – following a 10-hour stand-off between their coastguards over a Taiwanese research ship operating in disputed waters.

The stand-off took place on the morning of September 29 when a Taiwanese coastguard ship demanded that a Japanese patrol vessel stop interfering in the marine science project of the Taiwanese research boat.

The National Taiwan University’s New Ocean Researcher vessel was conducting the project in waters 69 nautical miles off the southeast coast of Hualien when the Japanese patrol ship demanded it leave the area, claiming it was within Japan’s 200 nautical mile exclusive economic zone, according to the Taiwanese coastguard.

“We received a report from the research vessel and immediately sent our patrol ship Hualien to the scene where we found the Japanese ship in waters near the research boat,” said Chen Yuan-chin, an official with the island’s coastguard, on Wednesday.

He said the Taiwanese coastguard ship then positioned itself between the Japanese vessel and the New Ocean Researcher and broadcast a demand that the Japanese ship stop interfering with the island’s research vessel, which was operating in Taiwan’s exclusive economic zone.

The Japanese vessel left the scene at 9pm that night after the New Ocean Researcher moved away from the area, according to the island’s coastguard.

The New Ocean Researcher returned to Hualien harbour on October 1 after completing its ocean project, Taiwan’s coastguard said in a statement.

“We will continue to do the utmost to protect the rights and safety of our science research vessels in line with our existing guidelines and practices,” it said.

Local critics accused Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen’s government of failing to uphold the island’s rights and of tolerating Japan’s continued violation of Taipei’s exclusive economic zone.

Taiwanese media commentary argued that if relations between Taiwan and Japan – which do not have formal ties – were as good as the Tsai government described, such incidents would not keep occurring.

Over the years, there have been reports of the Japanese coastguard driving away Taiwanese fishing vessels and other civilian boats coming near its waters, especially near the disputed Diaoyu Islands – which are also known as the Senkakus and are claimed by Taipei, Tokyo and Beijing – in the East China Sea.

Joanne Ou, spokeswoman for Taiwan’s foreign ministry, said on Wednesday that Taipei had a full understanding of the developing incident which was an issue concerning overlapping exclusive economic zones.

“Both Taiwan and Japan have their own stances on their exclusive economic zones … There have long been disputes over the operation of fishing boats and research vessels in the overlapping areas,” she said.

“There is a need for the two sides to speedily hold talks in order to resolve the disputes in reasonable and mutually beneficial ways.”

This loser Jai Hind American managed to beat Mike Honda a fellow Democrat party member was due to the all the Indian votes and money that got his way. As George Koo (A Chinese-American) flatly said on this most recent interview
that in order for anyone in congress to keep getting elected, one must have a big enough war/money chest to essentially cower down your potential adversaries from contesting you from within the party and to be successful in retaining your seat.

This Jai Hind has been vociferous and quite toxic with his anti-China rant especially during Pelosi's provocative and warmongering visit to Taiwan. I despise this ghoul to the core.

Do you guys think SA will relent this time? the US sounds pretty serious to me. Remember the assasination of king Faisal?
Maybe not given that if they bend to the USA then they will be slaves to the USA while it’s economy will be run into the ground like Germany and basically all of Europe. Right now, the USA has spread itself quite thin and if they keep it up, all the allies that matter will abandon them and if the USA ends up fighting China and Russia plus all its allies in its own with practically all their ‘allies throwing them under the bus to be well rid of these parasites that only give toilet paper for goods, we shouldnt be surprised at all.

Yeah that guy is a cu&t and to be honestly, I do respect Cyrus Jassans wish for peace between the two nations, but in the end, it’s not China that doesn’t want an end to the continuous back and forth but the USA simply doesn’t wish to have a relationship between equals but rather a master and slave relationship which is all the USA understands due to how entitled they have been all this time. In the end, the USA can only learn to co-exist when they have all its power/wealth taken away and that I believe will happen once the US dollar is degraded to the point of nothing and when the people start to really tear that nation apart due to all the shortages that are mounting as of now (I mean they still send money to Ukraine while mostly ignoring the damages cause by Hurricane Ian which costs more then what it takes to find Ukraine as of now)

If the Saudis relent then it has just given the green light to the US empire to dictate the prices of their own oil. Give them an inch and they will take a mile. The prices of energy commodities will be dictated by Washington and the Saudis cannot allow that to happen with Russia. If it works against Russia then the US will decide that the prices of Saudi energy will be extremely cheap.
