Frankly I think it's all a coordinated show. Biden is in on it. This is what always happens when the US has to save face because they're going to be begging to China a lot because the US is in bad economic condition. They have to preface it with a lot of shows against China before they come with hat in hand.
That's right. Only the Indian media is talking about this P5 ascension vote. I cannot find any other media talking about this. The P5 already have enough problems. Why would they wanna add another belligerent member? Especially a well known troublemaker like India.
Of course their military doesn't think its a good idea. If the PLA makes a counteraction then the US Military would be incapable of resisting it
So good for them to push back, politicians make a mess, and when sht hits the fan, they will want the military to save them. And when it comes near China, their military is 0% capable to do anything at all, so... better speak out now before the US gets embarrassed for being unable to use its military might to intimidate China.
After all, one of US Hegemony's pillars is the perception that it is invincible. Would be a bad time for them if that pillar was to get demolished because Pelosi is just another stupid politician

What prevented US officials from visiting Taiwan all these years until of late? It was because the President can tell them not to go. So if they're going now, it's because they have the blessing of the President.
There are US officials who visited Taiwan, but the high profile ones visited under non-official capacity(i.e. as tourist or business visas). They wouldn't get Federal funding for their plane tickets, lodging, security escort, etc and cannot act as representatives for the US government - at least officially on paper that is.
It's the usual good cop bad cop routine

I believe they were all former US officials. Those that were US officials weren't there for geopolitical messages and I'm sure they had to inform China before it..
