Should ask Russia for spare nuclear warheads to speed the process up, I'm honestly surprised that China didn't build 1k nukes before but then again the 300 nuke number might just be an estimate.
The 300 number is both an old estimate and also really not any kind of very accurate estimate.

Some people think China will have 1k warheads by 2030, I think they have it in just a few years (apparantly, the production of nuclear material for nukes have been going on since like the early 2010s with no idea of how much production).

Treasurer Jim Chalmers said the relief should be extended to the curbs placed on some of other Australian exports as well

Hey Jimbo, China's moving away from dirty coal and towards green energy... while your other exports have been replaced by US, South American and Russian produce. And besides, ties with Australia just isn't that important.

Any links to the source that China started producing nuclear material since 2010?

What make you think China don't have over 1K nukes ? from western analysts ? ;)
I got the impression from some posts here saying that China needs quickly build up its nuclear stockpile before US starts a conflict in the straits, but I personally want to believe China already have 1k+ nukes and is just holding the true number as a wildcard or to have an excuse not to get invited to nuclear treaties talks.

No, but I remember someone writing about that being the case in the ballistics missile thread iirc.

Edit: What's more, it would also make kinda sense/line up with the fact that silos and missiles were being built later, so actual production of the nuclear material can very well have started many years prior.

We know how good western intelligence was when it came to Russian missile stockpiles....

China has the largest nuclear energy programme in the world. It should have enough plutonium stockpiled to produce as many warheads as needed. The limiting factor is missiles, not fissile material or warheads.
