It shows how desperate the West was. They basically agreed to everything.

Turkey got nothing. This is the same sort of the deal that another member recently wanted for China to make with Philippines which was dismantled piece by piece by other members

So lets go at and see what everyone achieved in this big "win" for Turkey..

Sweden-Finland:
Permanently joining NATO (unless you think that Turkey alone can boot them out afterwards..). I dont think its necessary to explain the significance of it so I think we can all agree that this is biggest thing on the table (which was won by Sweden-Finland)

Turkey:
"sweden/finland will lift arms embargo"
Temporary. Next day the West could do an arm embargo for Turkey's bad human rights..

"both will support turkey on pkk, stop support to ypg"
Temporary. Next day, we support ppkk and yypg and whatever alphabet soup terrorist organisation we secretly fund

"they will amend their laws on terrorism"
Temporary. They can amend them back...

"they will share intel with each other"
Temporary. "Turkey has Chinese Huawei. Sorry, no cookie intel for you"

"they will extradite terror suspects"
Temporary. "We don't trust Turkey's court system to be fair. No extradition for you" + strategically irrelevant

"finland and sweden will support turkey’s participation to eu’s PESCO"
The only that could be permanent, but there are many others EU countries against it so at the moment I am leaning towards Temporary to Nothing

"turkey, finland and sweden will establish a permanent joint mechanism to consult on justice, security and intelligence"
Temporary. Because it says it is "permanent" doesn't mean it is permanent... And in any case, it is a mechanism to consult (so, straight into the garbage bin)

Can India Become Stronger Than China? Yes, It Can

In short, it will not take rocket science to make India’s economy the largest in the world and larger than even that of China and the US. It will only take simple common sense. There’s no need to invent anything new. All India has to do is copy and learn from Southeast Asian countries that have had close relations with India for two thousand years. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh called on India to “Look East”. Prime Minister Narendra Modi called on India to “Act East”. My message to you is a much simpler one: please come to Southeast Asia and learn from the East.

The good man should just stick to politics, and stay away from economics.

That is why Singapore comes across as anti-China. It is the Indians.

The idea of capitalism, and how it become successful, that it was the Puritan work ethic at work basically. It drove things forward.

That is why the Asian Tigers were labelled Confucian capitalism. It had that same discipline and work ethic, maybe even more so.

India?

It is a spiritual place.

Practical stuff ... forget about it.

The only rich countries in this world, all based on two things in my estimation.

One is manufacturing. Two is natural resources (when there is no manufacturing.)

India has neither. It may have some natural resources, but divide that amount by 1 billion people and that is not the ticket to wealth for India.

India had to do what China did, which was build up the manufacturing, give people jobs, go up the industrial sophistication scale. Now with automation coming, what are the masses going to do in India? How much percentage of the Indian workforce still on the farm?

Indians outside of India has no bearing on what goes on inside India.

Things work in other countries. It does not in India.

Indians in the West are just clogs in the machine, a machine that works.

Indians in Indian are just clogs in a machine that has not even been built. And unlikely it will be.

Do it. I look forward to future vacations by visitors at the United States Pacific Fleet Reef.
This seems like a strategy that was purely conceived on the basis of some numbers and not much else. If the US and China are locked into some major conflict, then I'm pretty sure the economic impact (on both countries) would be massive regardless of some stupid mines. In this case, why in the world would you expect cargo volumes to be at the same level?

Considering this huge economic impact, the oil demand would likely plummet as well.

Finally, in what scenario does China allow US warplanes (since he mentioned air deployed mines) get so close to HK, SZ, GD etc. and not have any response? Otherwise, if China's capability has been so diminished as to allow this to happen, then probably these mines are just kicking while down.

Does this guy own a sea mine factory or something?
