NATO/US presence in Germany gives Germany that influence to better manage independent minded countries like France without investing much in military.
Nordstream 2 is already built. but why should Germany turned it on at this point?. It makes prices higher for every one else by every one competing for LNG and gives more work for Germany engineering globally. the whole point is to make world depended on German engineering faster. Also that tremendous wealth creation of higher prices also flows back directly and indirectly to Germany. Germany knows that Russians will not invest on same scale as Arabs inside Germanic system nor Russians will supply labor on same scale as Turkey.

About nordstrom 2, I am wondering. What is the point of that pipe line if Russia doesn’t supply the gas. As long as this greens and USA loving forces are in power in Germany, the nation will be cut off from Russia gas and even if by some miracle that these forces are removed in the future, the relationship between Germany and Russia is so damaged that Russia will have little to no intention of helping Germany ever again whether it be oil, gas or food. And this is completely the fault of the USA and it’s agents in the German leadership. So really, if Germany and by extension Europe becomes a true third world block in the future, well that will be the perfect time to do some soul searching and also a great time to come to terms with their colonial past because at that moment, no other nation is going to take the colonial arrogance of the past lying down anymore. As such, I have got little hope to no hope that Germany is going to be able to recover from this crisis, at least in the near future, especially with idiots like Olaf scholz and Baerbock around to spew their insanity without anyone being able to mediate their stupidity

IMO, one of the responses could be that China would really declare sovereignty over the Taiwan Strait and deny it's current status as an international waterway.
The sad thing is that Indians probably gonna fall for it. Then on second thoughts, Indians probably deserve whatever coming to them..

The Biden's main point for said call is just for domestic political brownie point and expecting China is warm up just because of tariff removals. That is just plain wrong. It just like asking others to reward you just because you stop hitting them.
The tariffs should be removed FIRST, then US will have to make a permanent concession(e.g Taiwan) to make up for the loss before relation can be on equal ground, after which the US will then have to show the benefit they are willing to offer China in order for China to react mutually.
If Chinese politicians keep on behaving naively by giving up opportunities for strategic gain, then they deserve it big time when 中华民族伟大复兴 fails.
