The US will always troll China using Taiwan as the useful idiot. I do wish China would come up with some creative trolling back.
The first part has been known from both sides for decades. Any not-China-friendly country would do that. China would do the same if trading places.

The second part is questionable. International trolling has never been in the playbook of Chinese mandarins. CCP is not an exception. Essentially trolling is antithesis to the Chinese culture. The Chinese mandarins does have its own traditions and philosophies. Don't you think Xi's support to Putin is one of the consequences?

I have been saying this US folly for a long time. But cultural differences are in the way of rational geopolitical calculations. From the US side, not using that "idiot" would be a kind of dereliction of duty, under the geopolitical circumstances. The decision makers in the US cannot possibly understand deep-rooted Chinese traditions and strategies. From the China side, there is always this wishful thinking that, given time, the other side could wake up to the "Chinese reality". That is the fundamental reason I am pessimistic about US/China dynamics over Taiwan.

If and when the liberation war of Taiwan broke out, God forbidden, it would be in a much larger context in which Taiwan was just a piece or even an excuse. Given the Chinese ancient wisdoms, there is no reason to "invade" Taiwan for the sake of owning Taiwan. To the 1.5 billion Chinese, Taiwan is going nowhere, unless those green creatures can find a way to cut off Taiwan island below and tow it toward the west coast of California.

Where's the money for their homeless, housing, money for health care, inner city gang violence, infrastructure development, delapitated schools....Lol Democracy ain't grand? It goes to show how subservient Americans are to their government and they call Chinese people brainwashed? A country and people that has had histories of toppling various dynasties replacing them with new ones until that replacement has served it's purpose. No wonder the CPC is hellbent on ensuring that the vast majority of it's people are happy, relatively satisfied otherwise revolution. And they call U.S. RESILIENT? based on what? Weeds?

Nah, this is very smart. You build lasting and very strong security and overall partnerships with countries by going full support in difficult times. They will remember in later times and cling to you like a very small child to his parents. This is how you strengthen hegemony and build you preffered world order.
Come on man, let's not be naive. This money is a loan and must be repaid by their politicians that will have to kiss that American ring of power if they wish to maintain relevance, or achieve power. Not to mention sell out whatever industries they have including their market to the U.S. which means America's gain is Europe's cuckold loss.

Good response on that "red line" by Australia

China has slammed Australia for opposing its security pact with Solomon Islands, calling it a colonialist myth-driven violation of sovereignty and saying Canberra had no right to lay down any “red line”.
Addressing an online event with Pacific Island nations the same day, China’s vice foreign minister Xie Feng said negotiating and signing a framework security cooperation agreement was “the sacred right of two sovereign countries” in line with international laws and norms, and no one had the right to point fingers at China.
“On what grounds can Australia draw a ‘red line’ for Solomon Islands, 2,000km [1,200 miles] away, and China, 10,000km away? If not an infringement of another country’s sovereignty, interference in another country’s internal affairs and a breach of international rules, what is this?”
Xie said Australia’s stance amounted to “disinformation, defamation, coercion and intimidation”, and proof that it was still “obsessed with colonialist myths, exercising coercive diplomacy, trying hard to control the Pacific islands to maintain a so-called sphere of influence”.

Deranged

Veteran MP Bob Katter says Australia should defend itself against an “aggressive” Chinese Communist Party regime, with every high school student trained on how to use a rifle.
Every boy and girl in high school should be trained how to use a rifle, and those rifles should be stored in school armouries,” the firebrand independent said.
