No, he sure not. But like many other politicians, they choose to be stupid like that. And they don't want to be taken accountable when they are probed with something like "what is your strategic planning while China is making breakthroughs left and right and forward?" They don't want to be perceived as clueless dumb asses. So they would start finding excuses and blaming other people. Well, China happens to be a readily available political football in American polity now. So, just blame China and you can do no wrong.

That is just one case of "they want to have the cake and eat it too". They are not going to solve any real world problems. But they do prolong their "political career" in their bubbles. Therefore, to them, everyone wins and China always "loses".

Emperor indeed has no cloth. But he thinks he wears the best damned cloth all the time. What can you do?

Brother, what's 2 years of supposed extra spending in China going to do that will produce the necessary military that will deter enemies as well as prepare China for the supposed incoming war that it isn't doing right now?
2 more years is sufficient time for 200 more warheads, 100 more delivery vehicles, finishing launching early warning satellites, another batch of frigates, finishing commissioning of all existing 055s, putting dozen more corvettes and conventional subs into the water, maybe another 60-70 or so J-20s.

Its more for procurement not R&D. The big important R&D projects are already fully funded. Its on the procurement side that there is need for spending to increase.

More planes, more ships, more submarines (still waiting for the mass production on these), more missiles, more nuclear warheads etc.

After this dangerous decade is passed we can pay more attention on more niche R&D programs but currently there is a clear need for more production of critical military equipment

We should start with supporting Russia with materiële supplies for the war in Ukraine. We cannot look away and continue sitting on our hands like a bunch of cowards and let them doing the dirty work of which the geopolitical balance depends upon.

I think we should prepare a quiz for her. Title of the Quiz: Geography of Asia.

I'm betting that she'll have a challenging time answering it.

Who knows, she might confuse Bishek with Chongqing.

Or confuse Xiamen with Ho Chih Minh.

Or confuse Kolkata with Kuala Lumpur.

Or confuse Jakarta with Colombo.

Or even confuse Hualien with Hiroshima.

We all knew how she "performed" during her meeting with Lavrov.
