"Germany is "concerned" about China-Solomon Islands security deal: minister of state Tobias Lindner

- "I can assure you we will watch very carefully what China is doing"
- "Close consultations" w/Australia
- "Trying to deeper understand what agreement implies for future"
I didn't know that Solomon Islands was in Europe or part of Europe. Man, China just keeps on getting egged on by nutcase countries like Germany acting and pretending like they're not a vassalized country of the U.S.

This is what I meant when I wrote yesterday that Pakistan's security services themselves don't deal with many terrorism supporters either online or offline.

Something is fundamentally broken there, which is why I said that Hu's twitter post about bombing them was a stupid idea and didn't even qualified to be said to be a "band-aid solution".

Btw I am also expecting that Hu will be reprimanded for that tweet
Hell nah...and why do you think Hu will be "reprimanded" and for what? Expressing an outrage that probably most Chinese people with some semblance of compassion for their fellow Chinese feel?

Just simply advice Hu to cool his jets before posting a highly emotional posts on Twitter other than that, I feel and agree with his outrage (not the proposed solution)

He will be reprimanded but nothing serious will come off it. As you said, it will be mostly be a warning to not post such serious stuff like bombing another country's territory in emotional outbursts.

NASA chides China

The US agency’s chief has complained that Beijing isn’t cooperating with Washington on space ventures.

NASA chief Bill Nelson has scolded the Chinese space program for refusing to work with the US on its operations, saying Beijing’s secrecy has created unnecessary risks.

“We simply have not been able to get any kind of transparency from the Chinese space program,” Nelson told reporters on Tuesday. He made his comments in a press briefing ahead of Wednesday’s successful SpaceX launch of a rocket carrying a new astronaut crew to the International Space Station.

Nelson has warned of an emerging space race with China and has frequently called for the Chinese space program to collaborate with NASA. Lamenting on Tuesday that no such cooperation from Beijing has been forthcoming, he gave the example of an April 2021 incident in which Chinese space officials declined to share tracking data with the US or other countries as a rocket booster careened back toward earth after carrying a space station module into orbit.

In the absence of such transparency, Nelson said NASA “will deal with it as it progresses.” However, he has previously acknowledged that NASA abides by a 2011 law that prohibits the agency from engaging in direct collaboration with the Chinese government or any China-affiliated organizations without explicit approval from Congress and federal law enforcement authorities. Chinese officials have pointed to that ban, called the Wolf Amendment, as “unfortunate” and an impediment to direct cooperation with NASA.

TLDR: NASA Chief is “mad” that China won’t give NASA data, information on China Space Program, or collaborate with NASA despite the Chief knowing NASA can’t due to the 2011 law.

Seems like to me that Nelson wants China to give NASA their data and operation plans without NASA having to share any of their information to China or collaborate with China.

Did Nelson forget the leash on his neck?

It is kind of irrelevant.

This is how it works in the world today.

Germany, or someone in Germany, complains about China.

China ignores it. Then they take their money.

Actually, Putin is doing the same thing.

Germany, or someone in Germany, complains about Russia.

Russia ignores it. Sells them some gas (in roubles). Then they take their money.

:p

Military spending should be increased. We all know what will happen after the Republicans will come in power

According to a March 25-28, 2022 survey by the Council, a majority of Americans (57%) say that the development of China as a world power represents a critical threat to US vital interests. This includes three in four Republicans (75%), and a majority of Independents (55%), but only a plurality of Democrats (46%).
For Republicans, this is also an all-time high in Chicago Council Survey data and a sharp increase from 2018, when just 42 percent of Republicans saw China’s rise as a critical threat to US interests
Republicans (35%) are more likely than Democrats (15%) to say that China is an adversary for the United States, meaning a country the United States is in conflict with.

If Germany really want deeper understanding of what is going on, shouldn't they have closer consultations with China and Solomon Islands instead?
They are destroying 16 years achievements of Angela Merkel's Asian policy within one year in office.

Germany sent a ship to the South China sea in a patrol with the US some time back.

It is just another colony of the US with US military bases in it. Why else would you need to send ships to the other side of the planet? There was a time when Germany would avoid sending troops abroad in what are effectively wars or conflicts of aggression but that time is long gone.

Brother, what's 2 years of supposed extra spending in China going to do that will produce the necessary military that will deter enemies as well as prepare China for the supposed incoming war that it isn't doing right now?
