How does Ukraine feel that Finland got accepted so easily? Both border Russia. The only reason why the West wants to see an Asian NATO against China is because then those countries will be obligated to do some heavy lifting whereas now the US would bear most of the burden. Like if China did invade a neighboring country right now, the US wouldn't be involved doing the exact same thing with or without an Asian NATO? As the West loses more power and influence in the world, these pacts are really about controlling members on what they can or cannot do economically and militarily.
I think I read it here when, someone pointed out that SEATO had already been created with a similar function when it was suggested that Nato should establish a presence in Asia.

Threat, intimidation, and bullying. Everything that the US and Australia accused China of doing, they did it themselves.

LOL...China can't make friends, aren't allowed to sign any security Pact/deals with it's neighbors because that would be seen, interpreted as a "threat" to regional peace. Yet, the Americans and it's vassals are allowed to station their militaries around China, make deals with China's neighbors to cause trouble while China isn't even allowed to raise concerns legitimate or not.

This is the kind of news that is very irksome to read because it reeks of extreme double standards not to mention the obvious intentions of white countries to dictate China on what it can and can't do. Despite this fact, a lot of western leaning Hanjians don't see any issues with this.

No NATO country was ever expected to do any heavy lifting against the USSR. Even at the lowest point of the cold war European military spending was much lower than American.

An Asian NATO would be the same as the European version. A paper tiger that served as a gateway to American military bases,, arms sales and political hegemony.

SEATO went kaput due to North Vietnam defeating the South (while CENTO failed due to overthrow of Iraqi monarchy); SEA countries know full well that Uncle Sam wants them to do the fighting and dying for them, which is why no SEATO replacement ever appeared.

World is literally going to hell with starvation, lack of energy, civil and external strife and all some people care about is whether they have global dominance. What is the point of such dominance if there isn't a world left to inherit?
The types in power right now are all old and greedy, brought up from a bygone era of decadence and prosperity, now depraved for a taste of that sweet life before they passed on from this world. All the talks of making the world a better place and a better future for the next generation is nothing but one of many façade they use to hide their atrocious acts. In truth, has there ever been a leader for a nation that looks out for the interest of the world and all the people who lived in it?

We're still stuck the the thinking that defines us by our borders, ideology, race and gender. In the field of technology and science, we have advanced so far, but in social, cultural and political fields, our progress seems to be still stuck back in 15th century, with only incremental and aesthetic changes. But it will change, these technologies are making us rethink our ethics and morals, opening up new mechanisms for political and social management, our behaviors and lifestyle in the next few decades will be completely different from what we have now.
