What about the people who decided to delay Type 003 for COVID
People should be clear-eyed on where priorities should lie.
Whats next? Stopping J-20 production?
If during famine/wars/civil-wars/low-economy, important military equipment can still be produced, there is no excuse why Type 003 should be delayed for a simple virus.
So all the US has to do is simply release random viruses and thus stop China's military production? That's stupid, dumb and irresponsible for whoever took that decision.
Let's delay nuclear warheads production next..
Perhaps there is a misunderstanding of my statement.
I see no problem with officials delaying the construction of the Type 003 because of the COVID-19 pandemic that ravages Shanghai. They certainly have more important priorities - Especially if the Jiangnan Shipyard has significant COVID infection rates as well, and they couldn't find enough replacement workers from other places.
The problem that I see is the incompetence and foolishness of the local government officials of Shanghai (particularly the Pudong area) in managing the spread of COVID-19.
Had they taken the strict, zero-COVID approach like any other Chinese cities (i.e. Shenzhen, Wuhan, Beijing), Shanghai would have been mostly free of COVID-19 by now.
Their incompetence and foolishness is what caused the delay of the construction of the Type 003. In fact, it isn't just the construction of Type 003 that is facing signifcant delays - Many other projects too.
Even the official CPC newspaper of Shanghai, the 解放日报 (Liberation Daily) openly critisized the Shanghai government as "a giant crybaby" (petulant, immature and generally useless). This is generally seen as the central government in Beijing scolding the local government of Shanghai.
Quoting the lower paragraph in the screenshot:
“Shanghai did not have the capability of Shenzhen, nor the decisiveness of Wuhan, nor the quiet confidence of Guangdong, nor the boldness of Shandong, nor the immaculate logistics of Jiangsu, nor the daring attitude of Fujian, nor the humbleness of Guangxi, nor the resolve of Henan.
(Despite) being a Global City of the East, (Shanghai) is filled with the arrogance, prejudice and selfishness of the West!”
