I was reading the Pakistan Reddit and saw an interesting comment.

Not to mention the fact that not a single Pakistani PM has completed the full 5 year term, either being ousted by the President, loosing the majority, being assassinated or being couped, so one can say it was fate that dictated this crisis.

Not 1 Pakistani PM has finished their 5 year term since the PM position was created in 1947. 75 years. Not a single one.

Can't believe how easy and openly the US simply couped IK and no one reacted. No one from justice/political system, military, media, elites, people etc.

Thats revolution material here. How could anyone accept traitors and sellouts to rule his own country? I am not even a Pakistani and my blood is boiling watching this happen

This is a test for the Pakistani people, if even in this case people don't rise up and take action (peaceful or violent) against this treason, then they deserve everything happening.

Ultimately, its the people who make up a country (not vice-versa) and if these same people wont stand up against such blatant treason and foreign interference, it means that the country is essentially dead and buried.

Having an independent government is a luxury, not a God given right.

Interesting that even the BBC have thrown Imran Khan under the bus. They're claiming there's no evidence that America put pressure on Khan. Of course it's just a coincidence his party allies decided to suddenly defect with the Ukraine situation.

So the opposition have got rid of him, what do they do now? I'm sure it won't be long before they start squabbling among themselves. It's put China in a difficult place. They could easily bring the new government down by putting pressure on them, but then they'd be no different to America. An election would be the sensible option, but if the new government know they are unpopular they'll try an hold off as long as possible.

This just shows how bad democracy is as a system. A people's revolution is the only solution.

If the US had its hand in this coup, then I am sure they also have a plan for what they will do next.

China won't do that. Whatever the gov we share strategic interests with Pakistan. However, we should reassess/scale-back some aspects of our relationship with it.

After all, how can you trust someone who just sold out his own country? Once a betrayer, always a betrayer.

A people's revolution is the only solution.
Indeed. Their system is far too corrupt to self correct. However, the big question is, do the people have the courage to stand up against these traitors?

Seems like a really thing margin on the no-confidence vote from what i heard 174 of the 172 needed. Wondering what this means for south Asia might be another lost decade in the region.
Really? That's the number?
Generally I don't take interest in political system, but this is very interesting.

Can't tell about political situation, but as a South Asian I am literally a PhD (self designated) in bloc politics. 20 team blocs, 30 team blocs.
And I can tell right now, if that number is true, then there are "little king makers" who are already reminding the "big boys" which these blocs generally have, how they are the one to bring big boys on power.

Given South Asian countries normally have 5 year office term & I can recall him being around three years. So its already election zone. Based on that number, If this is a US coup, then it's a pretty weak one.Lol.

Emotionally, I have my best wishes to all Pakistanis. Honestly, Pakistan is a failed country, whether you apply US standard or China standard. Earlier when CPEC was proposed, I whole-heartedly supported the idea, knowing that the project would amount to what USSR 156 projects meant to China in 1950s. And China under Xi would do whatever it takes to help Pakistan succeed economically. But ......

And from this prism, out of 200+ countries registered with UN, only a small percentage of them can reasonably claim that they are NOT failed countries. Both US and China know all along that there is no way of fixing other (failed) countries. Never succeeded. While US promotes democracy and regime change, China promotes non-interference. Truth hurts and life is not fair.

Still, hope that the next government can do better for the people.
