Bro, mask completely bloody off, and here they are trying to lecture Russia on Ukraine, when they'll bloody do it themselves when the table is turned. If Australia actually does it, Russia should repeatedly point out the similarities ad nauseam, until everyone gets it.
Seems like a great opportunity to pull "nuclear umbrella" bs. A trick from the US playbook. Befriend a country close to your adversary, draft a mutual defense treaty, declare that you will nuke any country that will invade your new friend, then install a base. This is how the US put bases everywhere between 1945-1975.
I am not endorsing such a stance but if the Chinese intelligence concludes that Solomon Islands will be invaded, then I will support it. This Anglos invading anywhere they want bullshit needs to stop. I bet China's influence would increase if this happens. Countries should know that China will back them if the current hegemon or its allies try to punish them for their choices.

A nuclear power CAN'T let a non-nuclear power invade one of its security partners. It would have zero credibility until its behavior visibly changes. China should go all in if Australia really attempts an invasion. It would be a huge bonus for China's reputation and ironically pro-peace position.
Chinese navy and bomber fleet should be able to hurt Australia a lot. 1000ish CJ-10/20 can cause a lot of pain to the ADF.
If they get invaded, they could try calling CTSO/SCO for peacekeepers to help defend them. Though yeah, I'm not optimistic about their prospect, once those wolves have their sights on you, its time to prepare.

Also, the force of the impact likely also buried them a good distance underground, further muffling any signals they could emit.
