China abstained at the UNGA resolution condemning Russia because the resolution's support for state sovereignty was insufficient. India and South Africa abstained for the same reason.

I imagine China would have totally supported the resolution had it also condemned US arms sales to Taiwan.
No that's not the reason China abstained. The twitter OP was trying to manipulate China's position for his own naratives.

Here is how Zhang Jun, China’s permanent representative to the UN, explained after the vote (emphasis mine):

The English version reported by China Daily (emphasis mine):

Zhang Jun, China’s permanent representative to the UN, reiterated that China’s basic position on the Ukraine issue is consistent and unequivocal.

“We always believe that all countries’ sovereignty and territorial integrity should be respected and that international disputes should be resolved peacefully in accordance with the purposes and principles of the UN Charter. The top priority right now is to ease the situation on the ground as much as possible and prevent the situation from escalating or even getting out of control,” Zhang said.

The ambassador noted that Russia and Ukraine have already held their first round of negotiations, and both sides have shown their willingness to continue the negotiations, despite their differences. China welcomes that, Zhang said.

“Faced with the highly complex and sensitive situation, China once again calls on the international community to stick to the overall direction of political settlement and foster an enabling atmosphere and conditions for direct dialogues and negotiations between the parties concerned,” he said.

Any action by the UN and the relevant parties should give priority to regional peace and stability and the universal security of all parties and should play a positive role for de-escalation and diplomatic solutions, Zhang said.

Regrettably, the draft resolution submitted to this emergency special session for vote has not undergone full consultations within the whole membership. Nor does it take into full consideration the history and complexity of the current crisis, he added.

It does not highlight the importance of the principle of indivisible security, or the urgency of promoting political settlement and stepping up diplomatic efforts.

“These are not in line with China’s consistent positions. Therefore we had no choice but to abstain in the voting,” he said.

China has been consistent with its position in this crisis.

This is probably fake news.

Romania is probably too far away from where the action is.

Also, if true, this type of escalation will tank the financial markets. That did not happen.
In my opinion, there is a high probability of this being true. We will have to wait and see for crash site evidence. The good news is we know Article 4 hasn't been triggered yet as we are all alive.

NATO planes have been flying dangerously close to Ukrainian borders, and like I said the Russians are VERY pissed off.

Again, in my opinion, this is more likely because of a rogue or inexperienced Romanian general or MiG-21 pilot flying too close to the border than Biden wanting to trigger WW3.

Nukes are not going to fly if a Romanian MiG-21 is shot down by Russia. That's the whole problem with the expansion of NATO. Anglo/NATO has more control over Europe with an expanded alliance, but it weakens the alliance as a whole. Most people are able to understand this simple fact.

Looks like an update from the Romanian MOD. It was a weather related crash.

The Mig was over the Black Sea, the helicopter on land.

It's good that the Romanians were able to independently determine the cause of two aircraft crashes within minutes to an hour of it being
reported on social media in a time of war.

Europe may Label Weapons "Green" for Easier Investing Rules
The headlines these days are so preposterous, it is almost impossible to tell what is satire and what is not. In the latest example, Europe is discussing whether or not weapons should be listed as ESG assets, which would give them more favorable access to financing. This proves the agenda is not one of caring for the world, but one of power and money.

Talk is cheap, and so are votes at UN. Here is the real deal:

China Won’t Take Part in Western Financial Sanctions on Russia: Bank Regulator Chief

China opposed unilateral financial sanctions and won’t participate in such sanctions imposed by Western nations on Russia, Guo Shuqing, the head of China’s banking and insurance regulator, said Wednesday.

In the latest sanctions on Russia's invasion into Ukraine, Western allies decided Tuesday to cut off several Russian banks from Swift global financial messaging system.

“We will not participate in such sanctions, and we will continue to maintain normal economic, trade and financial exchanges with relevant parties,” said Mr. Guo in a briefing.

Unilateral financial sanctions normally don’t show a good effect and lack a legal basis, he said in response to a question in the briefing.

Given close ties between Beijing and Moscow, analysts believe China could provide an alternative by offering to use its own fledgling rival to Swift, called the Cross-Border Interbank Payment System, though the Chinese network has much limited reach.

Regarding the impact of such sanctions on China's economy and financial system, he said that “it is not too obvious now and needs to be observed,” but impact should be limited given the resilience of the Chinese economy.

In the end of the day, Ukraine is a sovereign nation. It is difficult to justify an invasion of a sovereign country.
Agreed.
However, UN General Assembly is just a toothless and irrelevant mechanism.
I agree that this specific UNGA 'condemnation' resolution is toothless and irrelevant, but do you believe these other UNGA resolution is toothless and irrelevant mechanism for change?
