Even pre-COVID, the figures would have been ridiculed.

There are 3 concentrations of economic and industrial power today.
They are North America (centred on the USA), Europe (around the European Union) and Asia (around China).

Turkey lies on the fringes of Europe, bordering the sparsely populated lands of the Middle East.

In comparison, China's neighbours comprise East Asia (Japan/Korea), SE Asia (ASEAN), South Asia (India/Pakistan/etc), Central Asia and Russia. China is the largest trading partner for pretty much all of these countries. China also sits at the centre of the Asian trading network and arguably the global trading network. Furthermore, China is actively building roads, railways, airports and seaports to connect up with all its neighbours.

The combination of countries listed above comprises a majority of the world's population and approximately 44% of global economic activity (on a GDP PPP basis). In 10 year's time, I would expect this to be a majority of the world's economic activity as well.

So I know Turkey has this idea of itself of being between Europe and Asia.
But when you talk about Turkey being a "central part of the world", it doesn't actually make any sense.
I am not sure what this is but i don't see it more then personal opinion..

sparsely populated.. really?

Okay I didn't realize you expected me to explain the central geolocation benefits? Because i see it as formality and something easy to understand..

Example in GCC you have worlds 7th largest economy with 65m population meaning the per capita is highest in the world for a large country as the remaining top 6 are smaller countries. Egypt and suez canal is major market and busiest passage which is close to Turkey..

There is Iran with 80m+ population and big economy top 20. there is central asia, and china plus there is connectivity and chinese goods that come via train as transit exit either to bulgaria and on to europe or take a ship further into west europe. there is Russia and the black sea access point and not to forget there is the maghreeb region which connects to west Africa and thats a huge market...

geograpically speaking Turkey has connectivity to all markets in the old world meaning the world(minus the americas and indo-oceania) Stragetically it is a central point in the world as in geolocation.

Where did you learn this China-kicked-out-uber-and-put-a-local-counterfeit story? It's ridiculous!

Uber fought a hard and epic battle against Didi in China and lost fair and square. It finally sold its China unit to Didi and took an equity in Didi. Didi was one of the largest unicorn in the world then; it was well funded by a host of bluechip companies and VCs including Alibaba, Tencent, and Apple.
Uber was kicked out of south east Asia by Grab, the local leader.

This is a news report from Nov. 2021.

I post it not because I think its interesting, but to bring to light something that's missing:

According to this article, the US was going to announce 5-10 projects that they will invest in with their B3W project. They would do this in January.

They did not do so.

This is a failure. This is the US not keeping their word. While I'm sure many, many excuses can be made, at the end of the day, they did not keep their word.

This is more significant than it seems, folks. As the saying goes, "losers make excuses, winners just win".

@Fedupwithlies bro since we are on topic regarding Infectious point, this is it, BRI vs B3W. A lot of our members had already predicted the outcome...lol

I recall EU also had their version called "Global Gateway". Whatever happened to that I wonder.

Yea sparsely populated doesn't make sense. The region has a total population of 600 million people. Sure it's not China or India, but it's larger than the EU and almost as big as all of Europe combined. About as big as ASEAN/Southeast Asia.
