hahaha I don't know what to laugh at more, this guy thinking it wouldn't be leaked or the insanity of being forced to resign due to simply saying a head of state deserves respect.
That just shows you how much western diplomacy has declined, saying a representative of a great power needs to be handled with respect is a reason to resign. You know western exceptionalism has rotten the brains of western elites.

China must brace for ‘digital cold war’ with US as battle for tech supremacy heats up

  • The digital economy will be the next battleground for strategic competition among powers, says top Chinese think tank analyst
  • •Separately, former finance vice-minister Zhu Guangyao says US efforts to contain China ‘not good for the global digital economy’

China needs to brace for a “digital cold war” with the United States as the two nations go head-to-head for dominance of the internet economy.

The warning from a top Chinese think tank analyst comes amid heightened technological rivalry between the world’s two largest economies and not long after Beijing unveiled a blueprint to ramp up China’s tech capabilities by 2025.

“The US has adopted a ‘small yard, high fence’ strategy to suppress China with a whole-of-government approach,” said Zhang Monan, chief researcher with the US-Europe Institute at the China Centre for International Economic Exchanges (CCIEE).

Washington is likely to impose stronger restrictions on sensitive American technology, adding to its tool kit of

, long-arm jurisdiction and investment security reviews, she said at a CCIEE virtual forum earlier this week.

At the same event, former Chinese finance vice-minister Zhu Guangyao also criticised Washington for trying to contain China’s digital advance.

He singled out the proposed Alliance for the Future of the Internet, a US-led initiative that seeks to gather like-minded countries to promote an open and secure internet, saying it would “divide the internet and build two systems”.

“This is not good for the global digital economy and even themselves in the end,” Zhu said.
The comments come just over a week after Beijing published a new

The plan endorsed a target for core industries in China’s digital economy to account for 10 per cent of gross domestic product by 2025, up from 7.8 per cent in 2020.

It also noted that “all major countries … are undertaking strategic planning and taking the initiative to create new competitive advantages to reshape the international landscape in the digital age”.

Beijing’s drive to grow its digital sector, gain technological independence and have a say in international rule making has ratcheted up concern among Western nations.

has said market democracies, not China, should write 21st-century rules around trade and technology.

Zhang said the US and the European Union have linked regulation of the digital economy with ideology, human rights and geopolitics. That meant it was not only “about economic or technological competition, but more a competition for rules and sovereignty”.

The digital economy would be the next battleground of strategic competition among powers, she said.

“The rapid changes brought about by hi-tech development, like artificial intelligence and quantum communication, have closely integrated some pure technical and economic problems with national security. China and the US must communicate on such issues,” Zhu said separately at a press briefing on Friday.

this week.

Zhang said the US might begin blocking shipments of computer chips and industrial software to China. “Cutting off supply is indeed fatal to us,” she said, citing China’s dependence on imported semiconductors. It was time to widen market access for digital services, including for trusted foreign internet companies and digital platforms, she said.
“Opening up is still an important foundation for maintaining the development of China’s digital economy,” she said.

Guess what, this guy resigned after being critisised for his comments about putin deserves respect

This is lesson for anglos and vassals to never say stupid things in india, because it definetely going to be leaked lmaooo
His comments about Putin will get headlines, but what he's most likely to be in trouble for was his comments on the new SD/green coalition in Germany. In a democracy military works for the government and not the other way round.

He was put in a position to talk about geopolitics and Germany's private Chinese strategy which is wholly inappropriate for a publically released document. His mistake was to treat Indians like he would the British or French. No doubt conversations like that happen behind the closed doors of NATO all the time. However it is new to Indians who lack the wisdom to see how sensitive the topics could potentially be.

They just saw it as a video of a senior military official from a white country saying positive things about India and thought it would make them look good so they put it on youtube.

His only mistake (for western media) was saying this:

He ain't wrong. Putin deserves respect for saving Russia after the SU breakup. And obviously Ukraine will never get back Crimea

For me, the above are the only things that he said that made sense. The rest, were a disaster
Well, that alone tells you enough about Western societies today... speaking politically correct nonsense being the norm, while making sensible statements gets you fired. With friends like these, who needs enemies?

He publicly leaked many insights into how the western establishment thinks. He exposed the corrupt dogma pursued by the western establishment. Using the Putin narrative excuse is just a distraction,

He is being punished for making these thoughts public.

This is the most concerning. It seems like she's saying it's inevitable that the US will do it.

How does widening market access for digital services solve the chips issue?

But it also shows the extreme retardation and double standards they have against China. The unhinged b.s. he hurled at China practically makes it as an existential threat to their way of life is just delusional.

First rule of the road for western polemics a.k.a. delusional religious nutcases don't yak out loud in the open when dealing with the Indians for it will be the end of your career.

The West is worried about China's zero tolerance Covid-19 policy because it will affect their economies in the end but they think this will do nothing to them when it's the same result...?
