Without China, the US would've been nuked by the Soviets by now. The Empire of Japan was a result of Japan choosing to be Western. The US wants to be appreciated for stopping the monster it helped create.

Japan and the US pledging to be more allied...? Israel, Germany, and South Korea will eventually side with the US...? Why do this need to be stated when it supposedly already fact? Tells you how threatened the US is when you can't count on already allies. The fact is it comes down to money. If the US ain't going to give it to allies, they will look out for their own interests. It's a joke for allies to have reiterate their alliances when they even know they go where the money is. If the US ain't giving it, they will go elsewhere. Just look in the US where democracy is in question because the alt-right don't see it working from them. Even the US can't stand by its own principles.

Anyone who knows some history, understands how to break up alliances.

One way to do this is by breaking the illusion of strength of the alliance leader. As time passes and China keeps ignoring US pressure, US' allies/puppets will gradually wake up to the fact that the US is not as omnipotent as they initially thought it to be.

Alliances are a tricky thing. History has countless examples of how alliances can been broken

Without China bogging down 2 million Japanese troops for 8 long years, the Soviet Union would have experienced Two-Front War (Nazi Germany to West, Japan to East), the Europeans would be speaking German now. Also, it ignores the fact that Japan was bogged down into an 8 year stalemate in China before US joined WW2.... ROCA was winning over 50% of the major battles against Japan by the time US joined WW2.

This is a pretty important election for the region, the peninsula.

The left leaning party in power in South Korea, wants to be neutral, taking no sides between China and the United States.

The conservative party running in the election is very clear they want closer relations with the United States. That message has been toned down in recent months.

However, the people aren't stupid. One party is pro-American, the other party currently in power is not really the same.

This is a important topic for the South Koreans. They are talking about a formal agreement to bring an official end to the Korean War. That is what the current Korean governments North and South are discussing.

After their election, that could be won by the conservatives, that peace deal probably will not happen, but more sucking up to Japan and America will be happening.

The Koreans are misunderstood.

This is what the Koreans are all about.

They don't like anybody. In that, the Koreans don't like anybody.

The Koreans don't like anybody, because they're Koreans.

That is the Koreans. They are uptight, and don't like anybody.

The Koreans don't like the Chinese, the Koreans hate the Japanese, and the do not like the Americans either, and are resentful towards them too.

Let's face the fact, the Americans are always injecting themselves into Korean politics, virtually on everything that is important. After a while, people really resent that.

This is what the Americans do not understand about the region, and about China.

For example, Vietnam has a love hate relationship with China. That has been the norm for centuries. They live with it, and each other. That is what they are use to.

The Koreans, do not like China. Whereas China, sort of indifferent to that. However, the Koreans find that with China, we can still be neighbours. That's it. That is how it has been for centuries.

Then the Americans show up, and see that the Koreans do not like the Chinese, and for some reason, think that is something to exploit.

Get out of here! That is laughable. Go back to do your serious business of reading the comic book.

2 front war against Soviets isn't a threat. Soviets wiped the floor with IJA already.

Japan was strong for an Asian power but it's GDP was still only 1/5 US while it's population was 1/2. They were about at the same relative strength as China in 2004 or so, just putting 20% of GDP into military

True. Koreans portray themselves to be friendly and global kpop guys but in reality they're very nationalistic. No problem with that, just know who we are dealing with.

The coming elections for the Philippines looks like a game changer, because it probably will solidify the drift away from the Americans by the Philippines.

The Reagan Revolution was completed in eight years, and Bush maintained the status quo, and Clinton embraced it.

Six years of Duterte followed by six years of the son of Marcos and the daughter of Duterte, the drift will keep drifting.

The rise of China, being the economic opportunities it projects out to the entire region, attracts. It does not repel.

Only that other country on the other side of the Pacific thinks that the rise of China repels.

Clearly, they are not on the same page.

So ...

Which narrative will be stronger?

The narrative that China repels its neighbours, which is a narrative from someone outside the region.

Of the narrative that China is a deal maker to unite the region in common interests?

Think for yourself.

Good, in the future when the times turn against the USA and the collective west, I wonder will many nations give a damn about anti semitism or will Israel have no choice but to answer for the actions towards their neighbours without the protection of the USA and with much of the real world absolutely despising them given that their actions are almost as bad as what the Nazis have done to them. I reckon much of the world will no longer give a shit about being labeled as anti Semitic in the future given what they have done already
lets not confuse Antizionism with Antisemitism. Being Antifa doesn't mean that you are anti-German or anti-Italian. You are against fascist politics that once took over these countries and their current supporters. Of course Zionists are nasty b@st@rds but thankfully, not every Israeli is Zionist
