The Americans are fading in the region of East Asia, and South East Asia.
The Americans tell us they still matter because of their alliances. Whatever that should mean.
The problem with their alliance, is that all allies must be united on the same page. That should give it strength.
What unites American allies in East Asia, and South East Asia is RCEP. That should give those allies strength, because they all on the same page.
However, America is not part of RCEP, that is kind of like lol.
American alliances in the region are about QUAD and AUKUS.
They do not talk about the treaty alliances much anymore because that seems like not enough. So they try to sell something bigger.
What is QUAD? Trade war, trade punishment, border fights with fatalities, and Japan sits around does not even cheer.
What is AUKUS? About 8 submarines in 20 years, by two members of the QUAD, and another country that is on the other side of Europe.
So ... what does QUAD and AUKUS do for the region? Hostility and militarization.
And what does RCEP do for the region?
The Americans have a tough sell.
Sure, the allies of America can remain allies, but does not means they want to buy what the Americans are selling, which is hostility, trade restrictions, and more militarization.
This seems sort of obvious, except to the Americans.
Until they realize that, American influence in the region will continue to sink.
