What solidarity was there for Australia when americs and the EU took Chinese market share from the Australians ?
He's talking about the inter-EU solidarity, this quote essentially means that the EU is pissed off about Lithuania and is unlikely to take severe measures & would rather stay at the minimum to save face.

As for Aussieland - no one gives a crap about the penal colony. They have a third-world economic complexity and all their shit is extremely easy to replace, that's why they got cucked by the US and EU so quickly - it does not take much time to import pork, coal, lobsters, and other "high-tech" products that Australia is able to produce. From what I've seen, China will be shifting away from Aussie iron ore too (for Brazil & Africa most likely, the former already increased the exports), while tourism and education sectors also taking a hit due to COVID-19 & rampant anti-Asian racism in Australia.

EDF is trash. It is now shutting off more nuclear reactors in France because of its garbage design

China should look closely on the EDF reactors it has. This time it seems that the French say the truth

Btw, ban EDF from ever again winning a contract in China. It's trash designs are a sure-way towards causing disaster
Sucks that these low-quality French products were allowed to be installed in the first place. EDF should definitely face consequences for endangering people's lives.

Gatling gun on the car door? I think that's kinda expensive. I would have installed a 12-gauge shotgun. That would have been much cheaper, and still send quite a message.;)
@Sardaukar20 I wanted to ask you as a Malaysian. Geely bought a majority stake in Proton the national carmaker of Malaysia. What does Geely see in Proton? All I know is that Proton is a shitty carmaker, maybe worse than Tata Motors.

China is basically saying to the woke Germans, choose between your automobile industry and Lithuania

With China's car industry becoming so strong it is now in a "position of strength" to act against German auto industry if it wants to

TLDR: Lithuania will be thrown under the bus by the Germans
How big is the Chinese automobile industry now?

Naah. Geely doesn't see anything in Proton. What Geely wanted is Lotus, which was owned by Proton. Proton doesn't want to let go of Lotus, so Geely went to buy over Proton instead.

Lotus had some fine automotive technology. Which Proton squandered and neglected for decades. Better to just let Geely have them. It'll be put to much better use.

And since Geely conviniently owns Proton. Why not just use them to penetrate into the Malaysian car market? Geely via Proton is immensely popular in Malaysia. Geely offers VW, or Peugeot level of quality for the price of a Honda. Its an instant deal.

@Temstar @siegecrossbow is it possible to install a Gatling gun on every car door to fight a robbery?
I drive through San Francisco probably four times a week these days. I haven't seen rear hatches and trunks open like that. It's most likely in only certain areas of SF. I know people who go downtown and yes there's a high chance someone will break in through the window.

Doha: Ooredoo Group and Huawei, two of the world's leading digital enablers, have signed a five-year global frame agreement that will see Huawei supply its radio, core and transport products and solutions to the Group.

The agreement will enable Ooredoo to further enhance its customers' digital experience around the world by leveraging Huawei's Radio System, which will provide end-to-end network support. Key technologies in use include Huawei's Blade AAU radio unit, Cloud Core solution, Transport system and Cloud Infrastructure solutions.

Ooredoo customers have already experienced enhancements enabled by partnering with Huawei. Ooredoo Qatar enlisted the technology giant to deploy its robust fibre broadband network and the advanced streaming platform needed to provide innovative 4K/8K HD video at recent major sporting events, delivering Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality services that led to immersive experiences for millions of sports fans.

Huawei's Radio System also facilitated the spread of fast nationwide 5G coverage at Ooredoo Kuwait, with the operating company also working with Huawei to deploy advanced Massive MIMO radios enabling Ooredoo Kuwait to introduce its Supernet digital experience.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Thani, Deputy Group Chief Executive Officer at Ooredoo Group said:“Here at Ooredoo we welcome this opportunity to cement our partnership with Huawei and continue to push forward the digital dreams of our customers worldwide. Much of what we do would not be possible without a high-quality infrastructure working at optimal capacity behind the scenes, and Huawei ingenuity helps to make this a reality every day'.

Steven Yi, Member of Supervisory Board and President of Middle East and Africa at Huawei said:“We are honoured to sign this strategic agreement with Ooredoo, the world's leading mobile operator. We will continue to provide state-of-the-art solutions and support Ooredoo as they build world-class networks and deliver best market performance'.

Saif Wang, President of Key Account Ooredoo at Huawei added:“Our partnership with Ooredoo aims to enable the company to achieve sustained growth and greater success through our innovative ICT solutions. We will provide our full support to Ooredoo with high-quality network assurance to ensure the success of the significant forthcoming sporting mega-events coming to Qatar in 2022 and beyond'.

The agreement covers all related implementation and integration services of Ooredoo Group operating companies; namely in Qatar, Indonesia, Algeria, Iraq, Kuwait, Oman, Tunisia, Myanmar and Maldives.

That's not totally right either.

Lotus did not have any special technology by the time of the Geely purchase, they were putting out cars on their own platform, but powered by Toyota engines. However, the engineering talent was still there.

The Proton sales and distribution network in Malaysia (and future expansion to elsewhere in SEA) was as important as Lotus. One of the first things Geely did before even selling a single Geely-turned-Proton was make a lot of the Dealers and Service centres renovate and closed the ones not willing to invest in upgrades.

In addition, as sales grow, the manufacturing facilities would become more efficient.

So you can see it was a long term plan from the beginning, not a throw in at all.
