How quickly can China offer a support package to Russia in case of a sudden SWIFT cut-off? Russia can survive without SWIFT in long run, but may need assistance with short-term transition. Its like how US levied sanctions against Huawei, which would have been much less effective if done much later. Threatening another superpower with sanctions should require a whole of nation response from both China and the Russian federation. At a minimum, civilian flights over Russian and chinese airspace must be denied, all attempts to constrain Russian and Chinese strategic weapons rejected, and unconditional support should be provided to Iran, both in strategic and conventional assets.
