Illegal activities have been discovered in textile and concrete businesses in the area of environment protection, land use, employee health, workplace safety, fire safety, taxation and product quality. Per national law the company will be fined, placed under tax recovery, and required rectification within a time limit. Land owned by the company not in current use will also be reclaimed by the government.
Far East Group have admitted to these illegal activities and is in the process of paying fines and beginning the process of tax recovery and corrective actions.
In the 2020 ROC Legislative Yuan election Far East Group was by far the largest contributor of political donation at 68 million NTD, with the majority going to DPP.
